1949, according to the last two digits in the serial number, Feathercraft (of Atlanta, GA) DeLuxe Runabout. I am the second owner and the first to register the boat which was on a private lake. Since buying it five years ago, I have put new exterior transom wood on it using stainless hardware. It has a drain plug kit professionally installed and looks like it came from the factory that way, they didn't come with a drain plug. The boat has no leaks. It is a twin cockpit boat, passengers in the front and steering wheel and remote control mounting pad in the rear cockpit from the factory. The literature says it is rated for up to 16 hp when new (the weight of the engine is important and engines were pretty heavy). The literature also says it will perform with as low as 5 hp. The ten hp Johnson has been sold and replaced with an electric start 1973 22 cu. in. 18 hp remote control Evinrude with a 15" shaft for the short shaft transom. Powered this way the boat is capable of 30 plus mph. The rear cockpit for one, front cockpit is for two. The 25 hour Evinrude engine cost me $1,300.00 and I bought separately and paid $250.00 for the remote key control wiring harness to the battery and key start/choke panel. I will sell the whole rig boat motor and trailer for no less than $3,000 firm. When I bought the Evinrude I put it in the shop where a certified boat engine mechanic tuned it up and serviced it which cost me $250.00. I will give a bill of sale. The boat comes with a cover. Trailer has new tires, renewed wiring and lighting, and bearings have been serviced. With it comes steering and remote throttle/shift controls for the engine if you want to install them. It has a few holes in front panel where original owner preferred front cockpit steering but the key start/choke panel, other small panel or speedometer will cover them. My reason for selling it is I started this project as an older person and find that I just need to slow down and simplify. If you know what a genuine Feathercraft boat is and appreciate their quality, and collectable value as a classic, then here is one for a reasonable price. You won't have to spend much more because I've spent a bunch to bring it up to it's current and usable condition. Buyer must pick up. You must buy it via ebay no exceptions. If you submit winning bid then immediate payment $100.00 non refundable via Pay Pal. And the balance Pay Pal or cash on the barrel head. Just sound business. I reserve the right to end this auction early. Thank you. |
