Inventory # 10070 Location: Boston, MA General Description: This 1985 41' Irwin 41 MH Ketch Sailboat was partially submerged from rainwater leaking unchecked for a period of time through LPG locker on starboard deck. Also noted leaks at starboard and port deck drains and hoses. The cause of leaks appeared to be due to lack of maintenance. The hull is in fair condition for age with chalky gelcoat. No major damage or cracks in hull sighted. The original gelcoat was painted over. Existing coating showing numerous nicks and scratches, repaired cosmetic damages both sides mid-hull not related to this claim. Fender wear portside aft hull. The water level rose about 3”over the teak and holly sole in forward cabin, midship and aft cabin. The shelving, in way of the starboard deck drain leak, is stained from water. The components below deck that were water damaged include water heater, sump pump, batteries, battery cables, refrigerator compressor, AC/DC bilge wiring and associated wiring and/or harnesses. The teak & holly sole is water stained and damaged in the forward cabin, main cabin, galley, navigation station and aft cabin. Not all equipment could be tested as no power to vessel at time of inspection. Other: A/C: Marine Air was submerged, in poor condition, not tested. Boom, Aluminum, in good condition. Cockpit or Helm station, Edson, in good condition Deck in fair condition for age, painted non-skid, numerous checks in paint. Gauges and controls in good condition. Ice chest, Adler Barbour, in fair condition Keel, internal lead ballast, Lifelines & Stanchions in good condition. Mast, Aluminum (2), in good condition, Rig ok. Port lights in good condition. Roller furling, Furlex 300S, in good condition. Rudder & Tiller Sails: Main and Mizzen intact (only sail inventory seen) and in good condition Swim ladder in good condition Toe rail, teak, numerous water leaks from fasteners into cabin, bright work in poor condition. Upholstery, exterior, helm cushions, in poor condition for age, faded, UV damaged. Water heater, submerged, in poor condition Wheel & Binnacle, Edson helm, in good condition. No electronics were tested but appear to be in fair condition for age.
Galley: Galley with sink, storage, Black & Decker coffeemaker, U-line Icemaker, Kenmore microwave, Adler Barbour refrigerator/freezer, Hillerange/Seaward LPG stove/oven, no appliances tested. Salon with dinette, settee opposite, forward cabin and aft cabin. Upholstery in fair condition with faded fabric, no tears but a few small stains. Headliner in good condition, teak and vinyl. Teak and holly flooring water stained and damaged in aft cabin, galley and salon. A small section of forward salon floorboards show delamination.
Ground Tackle: Windlass is in fair condition but not tested.
Canvas, Mast Rigging, Sails: Canvas/isinglass in fair condition. Starboard panel window cracked from windlass contact. Dodger top ok. front dodger enclosure that requires re-stitching.

The winning bidder ("buyer") is allowed an inspection period to verify that the item substantially complies with the published description.
