Inventory # 10065 Location: Seattle, WA General Description: This 1982 30' J Boats J-30 Sailboat was dismasted while under way utilizing the boat's auxiliary diesel engine to propel the boat when the boat's mast struck the substructure of a bridge and it severed the upper 9-10’ of the mast. The hull is in fair condition for age with shiny gelcoat. General nicks and cracks from age and UV. Kenyon 37'-3ó" x 6" x 4" aluminum alloy, hollow mast, is broken with the upper 8ó' segment separated and torn free, laying on the starboard walkway amidships. Forestay elongated and torn free. Furlex model 100S jib furler hanging slack at stem. Back stay separated from its bracket and loosely draped across cockpit. Port and starboard shrouds and their connectors elongated and torn free from their brackets. Port and starboard spreaders offset. Main, genoa, and two (2) spinnaker halyards separated. Internal electrical conduit and wiring severed and torn free. VHF-FM radio antenna, and 32-point white light assembly torn free from their electrical wiring (still attached to cap of severed upper segment of mast). Exterior wood weathered. Wash Boards need repair to wood trim. Leaking and wood staining with some damage at upper Shrouds Chainplates. Water trails from Deck fittings. Cracks around the fiberglass margins of the foredeck hatch. Cracks around Deck Hatches. Not all equipment could be tested as no power to vessel at time of inspection. Other: Boom is fine, no topping lift Cockpit/helm: Tiller Deck in good condition for age, non skid is thin. Dripless shaft Seal Fish Pole holder Gauges and Controls: Standard Engine Panel – Port cockpit Holding tank is full. Keel, fin type, in good condition for age Lifelines & Stanchions: Port forward Stanchion broken on the Bow Pulpit. Standing Rigging down, and may be stretched and bent. Running Rigging in good condition except those in internal mast. Furler condition not known. Manual Bilge Pump is not fully plumbed Mast: Mast broken in two above the attachment point for the Fractional Rig Jib attachment location. All parts there. Could be replaced or may be able to be sleeved. Fiberglass disturbance, lifted at the stem where the forestay chain Rudder & Tiller: Rudder in fair condition, functional. Bolts on Rudder (Stainless Steel) are wasting and need replacement. Swim ladder in good condition for age The tabbing for the water tank is parted. Upholstery in good condition for age. Headliner in good condition.

The winning bidder ("buyer") is allowed an inspection period to verify that the item substantially complies with the published description. A buyer who has inspected an item prior to final bid shall be deemed to have accepted the condition of the item at the time of the inspection but may reserve inspection following close of the auction only as to any changes in the item between the time of the initial inspection and a subsequent inspection made within the time for voiding the sale as set forth herein.
