1987 Morgan Classic 41 I’m selling the boat that my dad and I purchased new in 1987. She’s a great, strong comfortable cruiser that we thoroughly loved sailing but, with my dad’s passing, I am less motivated to make the trip from Dallas to Norfolk to sail her. I sincerely hope that someone with a real passion for boats and sailing will end up being her new owner. This is a one owner boat with less than 500 hours on the original engine!!! I spent $20K in 2007 upgrading all of her electronics. Specifically, I had the following RAYMARINE Electronics installed: · C80 - GPS Chartplotter · Radar · Auto-pilot · Wind Indicator · Depth Guage · Speed Guage · Water Temp Sails: Recently surveyed sails; condition descriptions:Roller Furling Genoa - 4 years old - Very Good Condition - TRIPLE-STITCHED, 7 oz. DACRON BY QUANTUM. 3/16" LUFF TAPE FOR ROLLER FURLER. CAPTAIN NAVY SUNBRELLA SUNCOVER ON PORT SIDE OF LEECH & FOOT. OVERHEAD RUN LEECH LINE. FOOT LINE. BLUE PEEL-OFF DRAFT STRIPES. LUFF TAPE CHAFED THROUGH THE ROPE NEAR MID-LUFF AND COVER IS CHAFED IN FEW OTHER SPOTS. NEEDS FEW SEWN PATCHES ALONG LEECH, UP TO 4" LONG. MINOR STAIN/SOIL. GREY BAG. Main Sail - Servicable but near end of life - Doyle, 8.5 oz. 4 Battens, stains & some fraying. Numerous Pinholes noted. Multiple patches. Might get a season out of this sail but should be considering replacement.Bimini - Resewn - Serviceable but not pretty.I want prospective buyers to know that, were I to keep her, I would do the following this spring: · Haul, Scrape & apply Ablative Paint – Est $1,500-2,000 (Note: she was last hauled and painted about 5 years ago; the hull was in excellent condition with no blisters) · Repaint Engine Valve Cover – The engine in this boat is in excellent condition but the valve cover is ugly and should be cleaned and repainted to improve its looks. · Begin replacing Port Lights – The original port lights (made of Lexan) are becoming brittle. A couple of them have minor leaks. It’s probably time to start replacing them. I would do this one or two at a time but a new owner might want to do all of them at once. · Gelcoat Chips – There are a number of gelcoat chips on the boat that have occurred over the years. Nothing severe but a little annoying. Relatively easy repair; not sure of the cost. I have the specs for this boat shown in one of the pictures. Let me know if you have any questions.This is a great boat and I’m sure it will bring great joy to the new owner. We have wonderful memories of our trips as we sailed her throughout the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean and the Chesapeake Bay. I have no doubt her new owners will enjoy this wonderful boat.
