INSURANCE SALVAGE: - Grady-White 24’/“247 Advance”– NO RESERVE FOR SALE IS A 1999 GRADY-WHITE 24' powered with twin 2011 Yamaha 150 horsepower 4-stroke outboards.  This boat suffered a capsizing and total submersion while at the slip and unattended.  The boat was raised and blocked ashore on the owner’s trailer.  The boat was surveyed by the owner’s insurance company using an independent survey firm.  The boat was declared a total loss by the insurance company.  RACE Marine Consultants has been retained to dispose of the salvage on behalf of the insurer. The following is an excerpt from the insurance company surveyor’s damage report: “We found the vessel resting on its trailer inside the facility's yard. We inspected the hull bottom and all thru-hull fittings. The hull and thru-hull fittings were found to be in visibly good condition and all in place. The starboard and portside trim tabs had been torn from their mounting areas, and the damages were new in nature where the screws pulled out of the transom. We inspected the vessel’s engines and found them to be visibly salt water damaged. We boarded the vessel and sighted damages consistent with the vessel being completely submerged. All the helm electronics, batteries, and vessel wiring had visible salt water damage from being submerged. We examined all accessible deck fittings and hoses. All that could be sighted and accessed were in place with the hoses on them. The seacocks for the bait tanks and live wells were in place and in visibly good condition. The main seacock was found closed. The facility reported to us that after the salvager pumped the vessel out, and towed the vessel over to the facility, the vessel did not take on any water. They also reported that when the vessel was hauled, there were no obvious signs of a water leak. CONCLUSIONS: The damages to the vessel are consistent with a sinking and being completely submerged. The exact cause of the sinking could not be determined at the time of our inspection.”                                                      end of survey report excerpt EMERGENCY SERVICE:  Following the recovery and haul out, the boat yard “pickled” the engines by draining the engines of water and refilling with diesel fuel. Overall Condition: judging from the survey report and the surveyor’s photos, the boat was in typical condition for its age:  normal wear and tear but no major damage other than the damage due to the submersion.  The owner reported that the boat was equipped with the following permanently attached equipment: GPS Sonar Radar Autopilot VHF radio Stereo EPIRB Shore power battery charging system All LED lighting (nav, cockpit, spreader) 35 gal live well Anchor, chain, line Outriggers Custom "Eisenglass" foul weather console enclosure Tackle storage system in console The owner has removed all loose and personal gear from the boat.  Included with the sale are the boat and its attached equipment as listed above.  PHOTOS: The attached photos were taken by the owner and by the insurance company’s surveyor.  They are as follows: 00:  photo by the surveyor shows the boat on the owner’s trailer after recovery 01:  photo by the surveyor shows the port 150 horsepower Yamaha 4-stroke outboard 02:  photo by the surveyor shows the starboard 150 horsepower Yamaha 4-stroke outboard 03:  photo by the surveyor shows the electrical system damage to the port outboard 04:  photo by the surveyor shows the undamaged starboard hull bottom 05:  photo by the surveyor shows the undamaged port hull bottom 06:  photo by the surveyor shows the damage to the port trim plane 07:  photo by the surveyor shows the damage to the starboard trim plane 08:  photo by the surveyor shows the center console 09:  photo by the surveyor shows the electronics 10:  photo by the surveyor shows the batteries and switches 11:  photo by the former owner shows the boat before the submersion 12:  photo by the former owner shows the boat capsized 13:  photo by the former owner shows the trailer 14:  photo by the former owner shows the trailer 15:  photo by the former owner shows the trailer VIN 16:  photo by the former owner shows the boat title with the former owner’s name redacted 17:  this is the 1999 Grady-White catalog page for this model.
