Shetland 640 21' x 8'6" classic cabin cruiser. 4 berth. full height cabin boat only.
Ideal river and estuary boat, very spacious with excellent head room.
These are virtually the same hull as the Shetland 4 + 2 which sell for big money.Double bed inside and room outside to sit comfortably around the table and enjoy a meal and wine.
This is a very very comfy boat for two adults to holiday on and its large enough for a family out for day trips - actually last summer I even had 5 adults and 5 children on board for the day– 10 people, that’s a big boat.Another really good thing about the 640 is the wide gunwales to enable walking along the boat (without falling in) surprising how many boats don’t have them. Note; Condition.
This boat is sea/river worthy and water tight so you could put an engine on and use it. But cosmetically it looks tired and I would suggest that it needs some work to tidy it up. Maybe use it for the summer and a winter job to potter on. The condition is reflected in the price. But bare this in mind- and please look at the pictures.Last year I replaced the old rubber and perspex windows with the newer aluminum windows. 2 x side opening and 2 front. These windows are very hard to find now and cost me about £500 all in all.
Tonneau cover included.
It will need antifouling again.I have made a few modifications in the cabin. 1/ I removed the toilet wall and put in an extra seat and captains table because it just wasn't very private and not really big enough to get comfortably inside. Besides that, nobody would want to squeeze in and use it with friends and family only inches away the other side of a plywood door. But, it would be easy enough to rebuild if you so desired!! If we needed a toilet we simply shut the main door and put the potty on the cabin floor. But I think this layout with the captains map table is much more useful. 2/ Also I built in an anchor locker and stowage cupboard. Again I couldn’t see the use of a hatch at the bow where all you could do was lay on the bed and put your head out ?? Where did they stow the anchor?? Now there is a large anchor locker in the bow and large storage cupboard inside. But again it is only screwed in so could easily be removed. Can be crane lifted on to your trailer (at your expense) or floated on to your trailer free.It is priced to sell and I am open to a sensible offer
