This Avon 340 Rover Rib with 25hp Mercury long shaft two stroke and trailer has been sat in the back of a barn under a tarp for the past couple of years and I’ve decided that there just aren’t enough ways in which I can make use of it on a farm within the hills of Somerset. I've also bought a classic car recently and I'm in need of maintenance money. It has been in my possession for the past decade, and has extraordinarily well looked after,  It has a late model two stroke engine, which are highly sought after given their ability to rev higher than their four stroke cousins. If you would like any additional photos please let me know. These photos were taken on the 25th March. If you have any questions, please contact me via eBay messages, or on 07966 273946 It’s rated for 5 people and has a payload of 565kg, making it a wonderful rib for watersports or bay hopping. It has a tough but light moulded hull with davit lifting D rings making this an ideal yacht tender that also won the National Marine Manufacturers Association Innovation Award for innovation in inflatable boat design a few years back. This rib was originally antifouled, however as she has not seen use for a couple of years this has peeled, ready for a fresh coat if she's being left in the water or left un-antifouled if being stored on land.  Avon ribs are very highly regarded, these boats were designed to be tough. This is a great size RIB for sport and family fun as it is easily manageable single handed, cheap to run, will fit easily into a standard garage, a fantastic sea boat that gives you a really safe feeling. Exceptional Performance ‘Great on-water performance is a hallmark of the Avon Rover Rib range, long established as an industry leader in this class. The Rover 340, built using the latest injection technology, makes no exception. This tender is full of assets and innovative features : modern tube design that ensures better spray protection, increased internal space, foamed hull that provides additional buoyancy, 4 lifting points as standard, large volume bow locker including internal polyurethane coating, reinforced counter-moulded deck designed for console fitting purpose As a tender, runabout or leisure craft, this range is a real winner. The Rover Ribs series include moulded non-ski dinner decks and bow lockers (R 315 Rib and R 340 Rib) as standard, together with chunky rub strakes for greater protection and great new looks. Available in light grey or white, bow locker cushions and single seat centre consoles are available as accessories. The Rover Ribs include built-in lifting points as standard. The bow locker (including polyurethane coating on Rover 315) is ideal for personal belongings, safety equipment, or small anchor.’ RIB This 3.4M 340 rib is in very good condition with no patches or repairs. It has a number of marks and scuffs from use & some ultraviolet bleaching, to be expected with age & use. The outboard’s raise-lock currently does not work as it is missing a bolt (see final picture), this has been solved with the genius application of a small piece of timber and a strap, however if you’re desperate for a perfect fix, it literally only requires a little TLC with a tap-and-die plus a bolt. I’m of the opinion that no job is better than a botch job, and given I don’t live near any marine engineers, I thought it best to leave. This 25hp Mercury two stroke long shaft outboard is a highly sought after late model, obtained just before emissions standards on new outboards meant they were no longer allowed to be imported into the UK. It has been remarkably well looked after, it is in excellent mechanical and good cosmetic order and while it can take a bit of effort to pull-start it, once it’s running you’ll have a smile on your face. This two stroke outboard is amazingly punchy and practical and pushes the boat onto the plane with ease. At full chat she’ll do around 25 knots, and will drink about 2 gallons of mixed fuel (I’ve found around the 75:1 ratio works best with this engine) an hour. The trailer has recently benefited from a pair of new axels and wheels, and while it’s a little blemished it’s sturdy and is more than capable of transporting the RIB. The boat will be strapped on with ratchet straps.  The Avon Rover 340 Centre Rib comes with: The trailer A Mercury 25hp two stroke outboard  Two fuel tanks (one 3/4 full of fresh fuel) An anchor & small chain A set of baffles (to run the engine on land/flush through) One bucket A pair of fenders A custom length bow line & 1 longer aft line One foot-pump One puncture repair kit (unused) A basic toolkit One spare wheel for the trailer. Two bungs I have 100% feedback if you have any questions I will answer them as soon as I can. I have more pictures if you require further details, alongside a video of the engine running. You are bidding to win and purchase the boat, not to come and have a look. You are more than welcome to come and view the boat and see the engine running in Taunton before you bid if you would like to do so.  Collection and payment needs to be within 7 days unless by prior arrangement otherwise the boat will be re-listed. If you have less than 10 feedback or less than 95% it is probable that your bid will be removed unless you contact me via message in the first instance.
