DescriptionRecent survey available.A rare opportunity to own one incredible sailboat, a true gem. This is a new S1D Brokerage listing, and this boat will not last. Light, a Great Harbor 26, built by Maine craftsmen in Southwest Harbor, ME, is an impeccable example of one of the most beautiful sailboats you could find. Light has seen little use in Maine, and is always kept in heated, indoor storage in the winter months. Blessed with beautiful, classic lines that always turn heads, the GH-26 also offers modern design innovations that make her a very fast, stable, stiff sailing boat. With a carbon fiber mast, and fin/bulb keel with spade rudder, and relatively low-wetted surface, the GH 26 is a true sailors dream. What's more, unlike many modern day-sailors her size, the GH-26 offers a beautifully appointed, hand-crafted brightwork finished interior with an enclosed head, and a 2 cabin layout, great for weekends and coastal cruising. This boat is in Bristol condition. The current owner has spared no expense both in upkeep and improvements, including:new chartplotter / electronicsnew Awlgrip (black)many more improvements, the list will be sent upon requestLight comes with a dual-axle trailer in excellent condition, ready for the road. She also has a complete, custom mast-up canvas deck cover. Recent survey available for serious buyers. Light is available for viewing by appointment. The Company offers the details of this vessel in good faith but cannot guarantee or warrant the accuracy of this information nor warrant the condition of the vessel. A buyer should instruct his agents, or his surveyors, to investigate such details as the buyer desires validated. This vessel is offered subject to prior sale, price change, or withdrawal without notice. From the builder: The GH26 is a 26' trailerable sloop. This weekend yacht is designed to be easily loaded on a trailer. A no compromise approach has been taken with both the design and construction. The finished product is of a quality only found in much larger custom yachts. Hank Hinckley commissioned Bill Cook, designer of the Ocean Cruising 52 and the International Cup 18 Metre, as well as both custom and production sailboats of all sizes. The charge was to create a maximum size trailer yacht with traditional appearance and lively performance. The sheer height was held down to maintain a lovely line, yet under the waterline a low wetted surface underbody with fin/bulb keel and spade rudder promise exceptional performance. Couple this with high tech light weight construction and the result is a winner.
AccommodationsFull v-berth forward. Aft is the main cabin, with drawer storage to starboard, along with 2 burner stove. To port is the enclosed head, with sink and more storage. Light has 2 good-sized berths port and starboard. This boat makes the most of every inch of space down below, and the build/craftsmanship is impressive.
