Description
Condition: | Used | Year: | 1986 |
Make: | Endeavour |
This heavily built classic was demasted by a waterspout, put on the beach, on the port side, with water inside on the port 3 1/2' up approx., and when towed off, the rudder was bent, with a 2" hole from the rudder. With the patch over the hole, no water intrusion was reported with tow to yard. The bow pulpit and Bimini top were damaged. The mast parted at the original sleeve, and also cut away at the deck, with both spar sections available. The Perkins 62 hp engine was well above the waterline leading from the starter near the bilge and away to the port, with a valve job, new injector pump and injectors,($4000) last July, along with over $56,000 spent by the previous owner last year on maintenance and upgrades. "He also related that this was the last Endeavour 42 used on the Miami Vice series", but we do not verify it or know how to. We bought it, worked on it, and discovered it was too big for our dock codes and now needs to leave the work yard. My wife bought towels and pillows because we were taking it home, so we left them on. The boat can float after the rudder post is straightened or replaced and the hole by it is glass properly, but the DC is not on due to the battery switches at the sole level with 4" of water over it. The Vee door has a 2" crack at the base and loose slates while the master door was not closing properly. The port salon needs more supporting with the tabbing loose for the seat, but not structural. The hull is believed to be solid with the new epoxy system, along with bottom paint. The head sail was torn and possible the main with a spare main and blooper which are in bags in the cabin, along with flares, PFDs, spare parts, parts for a water towed generator, the water and fuel tanks have been replaced/rebuilt, with all new ball lever sea cocks, most hoses and clamps, stuffing box, etc. It is 42'3" plus a swim platform and SS transom davits, 13' beam and 5' draft reported. It has 9000 lbs of lead keel, and electric Ideal windlass which appears undamaged, all winches, like new enclosures and new screens for the Bimini top, Autohelm autopilot, Raymarine 80, gauges, Vizio 32" LCD flat screen TV, Bosun chair, cockpit teak table, closed cell white cockpit cushions, etc. It is USCG documented and the abstract shows clear and lien free.
