Evaluate the Pedro as a pure 'sail boat' and she comes up short on performance against dedicated boats like the Leisure 17 with their deep Bilge Keel and more sail area. The Pedro isn't fast and serious. She is easy to sail for beginners and enjoyable for cruising along in light breeze as a family boat.But she has a big advantage over most serious sail boats and that is her triple keel which is short, she only needs 50cm of water to float, and this makes her easy to get on and off of trailer, very good in estuaries and harbours where shallows trap many a unwary keel boat.Think of her as a fishing / family day boat, that you can also sail if the mood takes you and then you understand the Pedro. She is a wonderfully versatile boat, with plenty of Cabin space and stability. We have used her to learn to sail while at the same time enjoying relaxed motor trips around Portsmouth harbour. She is birthed in Fareham Marina, and because of her ability to get in and out in very little water a pontoon birth costing under £85 a month has been possible and could potentially be transferred (subject to agreement with the Marina)to the new owner if required.
