Priced for quick sale Seasaw is a lovely 1950's Humber pilot launch with great character. Up to 6 berth. Questions welcomed, but please read the info below first. 46' long with 10' beam Draft: approx 4.6ft Location – The Ouse, York (Bishopthorpe) Construction: Carvel planked, Larch on oak. Part of the front deck is fibreglassed. Teak decking to rear. Please note this is a wooden boat, not a steel or fibreglassed hull. Accommodation: She's got fitted seating area and kitchen, with an excellent windy smithy wood burning stove/oven. The sofas double up as spare berths with water tanks beneath. There is a further storage area in the bow, which has 2 further berths, we've not needed them as berths so currently used as storage and the place where we keep the fridge! However if desired this would make an additional bedroom.
To the stern is a good sized bedroom with full sized double bed, storage underneath and to the far side of the bed. A small wood burner in the bedroom for added heat on colder nights (We use an eco-fan to circulate heat from the stove in the living/kitchen area, so bedroom stove is often not needed if the main stove has been lit). The heads are also to the rear, currently a compost loo, but could be easily replaced with a cassette. There's no built in shower at the moment, as we've had shower access on land so used the space for other things, however there has been one in the past so it would be easy enough to re-install. LED lighting throughout. Central wheelhouse: additonal space and seating. Engine: 4 cylinder ford engine .We've got both the leisure and the starter batteries set up to charge from solar panels Other info: She needs some work above the water line, including one plank that will certainly need replacing and a leak around the bedroom chimney. As with any wooden boat of this age anyone wanting to buy her will need to be prepared to undertake an ongoing program of work, so this should be considered a project. We bought her without a survey and have never felt the need for one, so we've priced her low to reflect that and to achieve a quick sale. That said, she's been a wonderful home to us for the last several years, and we've had some great adventures, sale is because we've now bought a house with a bit of land so we're regretfully giving up river life. Mooring: Sale does not include rented mooring, however this may be available if desired. It's a countryside mooring (see York Marine Services for their info on renting moorings) Mooring consists of platform with a large sturdy shed and wood storage at bank level, ramp down to floating pontoon with a further large shed built onto a pontoon. Although the mooring space is rented from YMS the pontoon/platform etc. are the responsibility of the tenant, and are sold by each successive tenant to the next. We paid £1500 for the pontoon etc. and would expect the same if the buyer of the boat also wants to take over the mooring.  Feel free to contact us to arrange a viewing.
