Description
Condition: Used Make: West Marine

This is a 9.4' ft inflatable boat which is rated for 990 lbs on the rating plate, and can be rowed, or powered with a small outboard. It has quality oarlocks and an inflatable "keel"tube that forms a V bottom and promotes easy rowing and good powering performance.  The boat has rigid wood composition floorboards that allow excellent footing when climbing in or out or standing in the boat. It has a motorboat VIN and California title which will be signed over to the Buyer. Motorboat registration has not been kept current because the boat was not in use Judging from the repair kit parts that came with it, it appears that this was mede for West Marine by ZODIAC, a renowned maker of inflatables.  Please do not confuse this boat with the cheap toys that are widely bought for children or for floating in gentle streams.   This craft is intended as marine transportation or as a tender for a larger vessel. Typical applications include transportation out to a larger vessel on a mooring ball, travel to other boats in an anchorage, fishing on moderately protected waters, etc.  In order to fulfill its applications, this boat is somewhat heavy, which makes it rigid and capable of operating very efficiently under power or rowing.  On-the-water performance is facilitated by an inflatable tube that forms a V-bottom at the bow for a more efficient and directionally stable shape. When deflated and stored in the case , the total weight includes the fabric boat,  the floorboards, plus the accessories like Oars, Oarlocks, Foot Pump, inflatable center seat, etc. Therefore I like to transport the folded up boat in two packages (floorboards and fabric), although the case that is shown in the photos will carry everything.  I bought this boat from a  West Marine outlet sale as a new/return.  It is a number of years old, but has been stored out of UV exposure for most of its life. I have used it a few times for fishing on mountain lakes, as a tender on cruises on my sailboat, and for motoring in the Delta. All the rest of the time it has been stored out of the weather and protected from UV exposure.  Condition is very good, with no visible cracks or damage to the inflatable chambers of the boat. It will hold air for weeks, showing clearly that there are no leaks   The black fabric floor (see photos) is glued to the floatation chambers, and this glue joint failed when rainwater collected in a puddle on the bottom when the boat was upside down.  The floor was  reglued as recommended by West Marine- using 3M 5200 professional adhesive. WMAR says this is a permanent fix. Some delamination and deterioration in the wood composition floorboards was discovered and repaired as follows:   Small areas filled or glued, and painted, and one floorboard was replaced with new exterior plywood and painted. All floorboards were re painted with exterior floor paint.  Accessories included are the oarlocks, oars, foot pump, carrying case  center seat, and original user manual.  As you can see in the pictures, the boat could use a thorough exterior cleaning, but is otherwise ready to go.  I have not been able to find any professional information on the longevity of these boats, or how to predict how long they will last.  This one has had very little exposure to the sun's UV, and at present the fabric is flexible with no cracks, and looks to me like it did when new.  Nevertheless there is NO WARRANTY given with this boat, and especially there is NO representation made as to the number of years it will last into the future. No returns. SHIPPING:  Local Pickup in San Francisco Bay area, OR I WILL SHIP CHEAPEST WAY . This is a 70lb item so probably it will come in two boxes. Seller will invoice successful bidder with actual amount charged by shipper.
