This is a give away price of £8000 or best acceptable offer. I am selling my 38ft steel ketch, Christine R, built by Ryton engineering on the Tyne, designed by Robert Tucker. Christine R is safe and fun to sail and is a solid seaboat. She is berthed in Douglas on the Isle of Man. She is in need of some TLC, hull paintwork externally, headliners removed internally and replaced in the saloon, still to be replaced the in the aft and forcabin, running rigging cleaned (some new replacements onboard). She is registered on the British Register of Shipping (official number: 337355), port of registration: Newcastle. She has a centre cockpit, aft cabin with a small aft deck and lazerette locker. Well equipped: ratheon radar and chart plotter, log, depth, electronic compass, Sestrel Moore Steering compass and hydraulic autopilot. Vetus hydraulic steering. A Perkins 4.108 drives her well either under engine alone or in combination with her sails; engine, oil and filter changed March 2017. Mainsail with slab reefing, Mizzen sail, selection of foresails. Sterling battery charger; 4 x 6 volt house batteries and 1x 12 volt engine starter battery; aerogen 4 wind generator (not currently fitted), adverc battery management. Three anchors, chain, dinghy and outboard, origo spirit stove with oven, Newport solid fuel stove, electric and manual bilge pumps, lewmar primary winches. Liferaft serviced August 2016, fire extinguishers. Would also be suitable as a live aboard providing cost effective accommodation in Douglas. I would like someone new to enjoy and look after her and is a lot of boat for the price. Age and health means I can't give her the attention she needs and is the reason I need to let her go and why she is for sale. I have added some old internal photos which show the saloon table the sink area and the forepeak locker. Also a photo of Christine R out of the water some time ago. Her accommodation layout is Fore cabin two berths port and starboard, lockers beneath, forepeak locker, steel hatch to the foredeck with a small opening glass ventilation hatch. Saloon: Two washboard hatch to saloon with galley immediately to starboard, fore and aft bulkhead separating the galley and saloon table on the port side which can also be converted to a double berth, seating for six people around the saloon table which also doubles as a chart table when at sea, lockers beneath; access hatch to front of engine allowing easy access to raw water pump, oil drain plug and oil filter. Heads to starboard with sea toilet and holding tank, small sink, hanging locker to port. Large centre cockpit with two access hatches to the engine bay, three piece teak flooring boards, two large lockers to port and starboard, one long locker aft holding two fuel tanks (one currently connected) and one water tank (out for cleaning just now). Aft cabin with two berths port and starboard, lockers under and to the side. Aft deck with steel hatch to lazerette locker holding the hydraulic steering arm; also gland for fitting a direct tiller for emergency steering to the rudder.
