Inventory # 9992 Location: Oriental, NC General Description: This 1980 30.2' Cape Dory Sailboat was damaged in Hurrican Matthew. Hull in poor condition with chalky gelcoat. Hull below the waterline has been sanded exposing wide spread blistering visible on out surfaces of gelcoat. The port and starboard hull sides gelcoat is in poor condition due to oxidation. The topside gelcoat is faded and stress cracks are numerous extending bow to stern. Navigation and anchor lights powered up. Foredeck light did not power up. Interior DC cabin lights powered up. Vessel is equipped with a 12 US gallon aluminum fuel tank and a 14 ½ gallon antistatic fuel bladder, not inspected. Vessel is equipped with a 23 ½ gallon antistatic water bladder, not inspected. Vessel s equipped with an approximate 10 gallon polyethylene type holding tank and Y valve with overboard discharge or dockside pump out. The AC & DC distribution panels are separate. The AC panel has 5 circuits with thermal type breaker protection, main breaker and reverse polarity indicator light. The inlet receptacle is 30 Amp/125 volt. The DC panel has 12 circuits with fuse and thermal breaker type protection, voltmeter with two bank test switch and pilot light indicator. Not all equipment could be tested as no power to vessel at time of inspection. Other: Anchor pulpit: hardwood pulpit is installed with two anchor rollers. Anchor: Bruce anchor 7.5ke, condition fair-rusty. Anchor chain +or- 25’ 3/8” galvanized chain, chain is rusty. Anchor line + or – 100’ ½” twisted nylon, in fair condition. Boom, 2 aluminum, in fair condition, light oxidation and corrosion. Cockpit or Helm station in poor conditon, faded gelcoat and stress cracks to surfaces. Deck in poor condition, faded gelcoat and stress cracks to surfaces. Gauges and controls in poor condition. Gauges, Volvo, tachometer is not readable due to faded face. Controls, Vetus, in fair condition, shift & throttle control did function normally. Gunwale in poor condition, faded gelcoat and stress cracks to surfaces. Keel, fixed Lifelines & Stanchions: Stanchions stainless steel, in good condition. Lifelines, vinyl coated, in poor condition. Mast, Aluminum, in fair condition. Corrosion sighted to base and step plate. Rudder & Tiller, hardwood tiller, in fair condition, normal wear for age. Sails: mainsail appears in good condition. Foresail appears in good condition. Complete inspection of sails was not possible at time of inspection. Swim ladder, stainless steel, 4 step, transom mount. Rubber bumpers are deteriorated. Toe rail, teak, in fair condition, normal wear for age Washdown, fresh water, in fair condition, cabinet mount galley foot pump at galley sink, function was normal. Winches in fair condition, no winch handles sighted, (7) total: 5 Lewmar #6 single speed, 2 Lewmar #10 single speed. Winches all operated. Windows in fair condition for age. (8) Spartan brand bronze port lights all indicate previous leakage at seals. Florida 6% state sales tax will apply for Florida residents. Storage charges will accrue after the 10 day grace period. Engines: Single Volvo D1-208 18HP Diesel inboard engine. The engine turned over freely with starter at this inspection. Engine was not started. Oil level was normal with no obvious indication of water intrusion. Coolant level was normal. There was no indication that any high water levels exceeded any open orifices of the engine or transmission. The engine starter did not appear to have been submerged. A manual diaphragm pump installed in the cockpit serves as the bilge pump, not tested.
Transmission: Transmission make ZF, model and serial number not legible, not tested.
Generator / Battery: There is no generator. Batteries (2), Interstate 5RM-24 deep Cycle 550 CA, both batteries are charged, appear in fair condition, not tested, condition unknown. Ray Jefferson 30 Amp 2 Bank charger. Battery switch: Perko off-1-All-2 switch, powered up all sectors.
Electronics: Electronics in poor condition, not tested. Raymarine Depth Sounder did not power up. Transducer fairing block is deteriorated. Standard Horizon VHF radio powered up.
Galley: Galley with sink, built-in top loading ice box (lid is missing, drain is stopped up), Perm-View LPG 2 burner gimbaled stove with oven. No appliances tested. Salon with two convertible settees, table, head, forward berth. Fabric covered foam cushions in V-berth and cabin salon in fair condition for age. Headliner in good condition, it is a gelcoat finish on fiberglass. Carpet in poor condition, faded, runner stained. Cabin has 4 brass oil lamps, not tested. Established water lines were sighted in the cabin salon that indicated a previous high water level of approximately 9” above the cabin sole.
Ground Tackle: Simpson Lawrence S-L Hyspeed in poor condition, equipped with chain and line spools. Windlass did not power up. The unit operated manually by hand.
Canvas, Mast Rigging, Sails: There is no canvas.
Head: Single head with manual marine toilet, not tested. There is no shower.Shipping: Item sold "where is". Assistance with shipping is generally available; however, buyer is responsible for costs of preparing item for shipment and charges for loading vessel onto trailer or transport.
