2. New Bilge PumpsEngine has less than 300 hours Work that needs to be completed. We've had a number of interested buyers ask us what would it take to finish this vessel. Well that's a good question..... If you are a "true Sailor" then you know that to say we Sailors "vary in opinion and style" is an understatement of the century. With that said, my opinion could be a seen as to much to one and not enough for the other. So I'm going to list what, in my opinion would be the minimum needing to get the vessel to sailing:1. When we got the boat the mast was in the air and we had to stepped the mast to haul it to our yard so we do have the mast and boom are and all the hardware appears to be there too. If it were me I'd put new ropes and carefully inspect all connections. On this small vessel the hardware is cheap so it should not be a corner to cut if someone was on a tight budget.2. Cushions for the cockpit: Since this vessel was built there are a lot of new types of marine upholstery & foam options, I would make new cushions around the cockpit3. DIY: Any vessel, regardless of condition, will have ongoing TLC requirements. This one has sat for awhile so I would count on that.... But that is part of the enjoyment of owning a sailboat and making it yours.4. If you are just starting sailing I would recommend "The Boat Maintenance Bible"... It is the most up to date, user-friendly and hands-on manual for boat owners of all skill levels wishing to keep their boat seaworthy and safe.5. At the end of the day if you have salt in your veins and an itch to become a sailor this could really be a great entry level boat. One can not just buy a ticket or license to become a sailor, it is a right of passage that is earned. It takes crawling all around and inside the vessel to know every inch and in doing so enabling you to plan for any contingency..... Yes it takes work but, as any true sailor will tell you, the satisfaction of knowing your skills and challenge to handle what ever fate throws your way out there on the water is priceless......
You are going to have to get wet to swim, but once your in it is all about having some fun. This is a project boat but the hardest work has already been done for you.Robin King
