Lots of interest shown but no offers so I have reduced the price in the hope someone will be interested to come and see the boat.We were new to boating and first read a lot about which and what type of boat we should buy as first time boaters. All the experts suggest you buy a boat between 22ft and 27ft and unless you are dead set on buying a narrow boat to buy a cruiser as it offers more of a yacht feeling   We decided to look for a boat that fitted the bill and eventually found Sherry Lady. She is a 27ft. Seamaster built in 1974 and has been well maintained throughout her life. The Seamaster is renowned for its stability and ease to drive. It is a perfect boat for someone who is just starting and looking for a boat to test the waters (pun intended).    We decided to buy Sherry Lady as it seemed the right boat for what we were wanting to do, i.e. use it on the inland canals as well as rivers and some of the interconnecting tidal waters. With the 1500cc, 35HP, Waltham Blake, Waterboy engine, (a marinised BMC diesel engine) the boat is economical and also has the stamina to go all day. It has 2 berths in the bow in a separate compartment and it is possible to have another 2 berths in the galley. We never intended to use the full capacity and it is an ideal boat for 2 people. We have spent several long weekend away and it is very comfortable. There is a 2 hob gas cooker with grill and oven. A sink and fridge are also in the galley. In the corner is a toilet compartment which is useful on longer trips J.   The helm area is quite spacious and large enough for a table and for 4 people to dine. The canopy is fully retractable to make this a very open space and great on nice days. It is also waterproof, to offer great protection on those not so nice days and because it is in sections it can adapt to those the intermediate days.   The engine had a major overhaul in March 2013 and the gearbox was rebuilt at the same time. Over the past 12 months we have had no issues and the previous owner confirmed that he too had had no issues with the engine or gearbox. Of course the usual (annual) oil and filter changes have been carried out. Both engine and gearbox are functioning perfectly.   We have re-varnished the wood trimmings and mast as well as replacing the horn and tunnel light. New flooring and curtains were put in the galley. The canopy was replaced in 2013 and is still in very good condition.   As already mentioned this boat is an ideal starter boat and I would welcome any request to view as it is best seen live. The pictures might be good but …     TheTechnical details: Wortham Blake, ‘Fisherboy’ 1500cc diesel engine, 35HP HyDrive hydraulich Gearbox 70 ltr. diesel tank 100 ltr. water tank Pressurised cold water system (new pump in 2016) Piping in place to install a calorifier Fridge both 240v and 12v Porta-Potti chemical toilet Most internal lighting replaced by LEDs 240v shore power cable/connection Operator’s handbooks for the engine and gearbox Fenders, ropes, boat hook, depth sounder.   A new BSS Certificate valid until 27th April 2021 was issued on 7th February 2016.  During the BSS inspection an interesting fact came to light. This boat is 1 of the 4 last Seamaster 27s build.
