Description
Condition: Used Year: 1975
Make: Cape Dory

Up for your consideration is my one of a kind Cape Dory Typhoon weekender. Needless to say I spent a small fortune in this pocket cruiser, as I explain below,Boat was hauled and moved to a warehouse for repairs in October of 2015. Bottom was stripped. Hull was sanded, primed and awlgripped. Two coats of Interlux primer and two more coats of Interux bottom paint were applied. Toe rail was replaced with new Teak. All deck hardware ( I mean ALL) was removed. Most of it replaced (blocks, cleats, etc) using new fasteners and fresh sealant. Winches were replaced with new Harken aluminum.New teak decks were installed. This is real teak, not plasticky stuff or the rubber kind. Professionally cut and layed down. Secured with special epoxy, specially formulated for this application. Not a single screw to hold it down. Never oiled, stained, etc. Completely natural. Only mild soap and old fashioned brush used to clean. Needless to say it looks fantastic!!!At this time a new 12V DC system was installed: new AGM G24 battery, new automatic bilge pump (properly plumbed with check valve), LED cabin lights, LED navigation lights, Raymarine i40 depth instrument with thru-hull transducer. Small Ganz solar panel 6W for trickle charging battery. New Plastimo Contest bulkead compass with red card.Mast was unstepped and all running rigging was replaced, new blocks, new windex all NEW standing rigging, including open body turnbuckles. New spreader boots. Furlex furler was re-installed. One 140% genoa with beige (sand) Sunbrella and one main. Both in good shape, not new, but a lot of life left. main sail cover restitched. Boom tent restitched with some patches, but still usable.Cast bronze outboard bracket in great shape. New (November 2015) Honda 2.3 HP, 4-stroke, air cooled outboard, long shaft. Less than 10 hours of use. There is a set of cabin cushions (blue) in good shape. Also cockpit cushions (beige). All cabin hatch covers are also new, freshly coated.Fortress Danforth anchor with stainless steel chain and plenty of rode.Assorted dock lines new in 01/2016 and many accessories and misc parts included. One of the cabin pics show an area to starboard with a cutout to accommodate a marine toilet, which I removed when I bought the boat. Does not affect in any way other than cosmetics. Simple to cover with a 1/4" starboard panel.Included in this sale is also a customized galvanized trailer. Trailer has new fenders, new wiring and lights. I used heavy duty boat stands and welded them to the frame of the trailer at the correct angle. This allows for adjustment of height to the correct pressure on the hull. Wood board for the keel are new. Trailer shows it’s age, but I used this same trailer to bring the boat from the middle Keys to Ft. Lauderdale and then back to Miami without any problems.Sailboat and trailer are both in my name ready to be transferred. Previous owner could not find the title when he sold it to me, which he himself had never transferred from former owner. So we had to get the boat inspected and a new title was issued. Since no permanent Cape Dory inscriptions were found the State issued a title as “Homemade”. I did not think this was a problem, since I know this IS indeed a CD Typhoon!Boat will be in its mooring at the Coconut Grove Sailing Club until the last few days of February. After that I will unstep the mast and move it to the trailer and to my house. If you buy before I move it to the trailer and you need to trailer the boat I will make arrangements to get it on the trailer for you at no extra charge. Some of the last pictures show the boat right after it was finished earlier last year. I could not wait to splash the boat so only applied 4 coats of bridgework with the intention to apply 4 more. That never happened, so brightwork has to be re-done. Companionway boards still look great!Folks, this is an auction for a boat/trailer. This is NOT and auction to inspect a this boat/trailer. If you want to inspect the boat, then do so before the end of the auction. If you become the winning bidder, then you must pay the agreed amount.I'll be glad to show everything to you. I live 5 blocks away from the club and work about 4 miles away, so easy for me to do that. I can accept full payment via PayPal, but a 3% fee will be added.
