After 45 years in Austin - and after owing 17 sailboats over the years, including six Drascombes - a Scaffie, three Long boats, a Drifter, and recently the Coaster - we moved a couple of months ago to a small retirement village in Cocoa Florida. Lots of water here. And I've sailed the Florida coast several times over the years, BUT my first mate keeps telling me that I should come to grips with pushing 80 and buy a Trawler. Well, that's a better suggestion than telling me to move into a nursing home. Anyway:My Coaster is a Honnor built boat to their “Super” specifications in 1992. Hull number HNRGBJ10G292. (Honnor Marine, built in GB, J10 means the 10th Coaster built that year, built in July in 92.) Sail #245.My observation is that the boat has had very little use over the years. A friend bought the boat in California, shipped it to Texas and left it in the care of the local boat shop that did all the work for members of the Austin YC - Just left it there for four years. He had the boat completely re furbished. The shop owner is a perfectionist and does first class work. The owner simply did not ever find the time to sail the boat. And then it was for sale and what could I do?The Coaster is pristine. New cushions, Sea hood - never used, The original tent - never used. Sails are like new. Spars are like new. I had a new boat cover made before we left Austin. $800, never used. I bought a New 5hp Lehr Propane OB. Never used. And, I'd include loads of equipment I've collected after owing many different sailboats over the years... anchors, line, cushions ect...a long list. As well as the last of my sailing books. (I was a avid nautical book collector before we moved to a smaller house. Of course, easy to keep up, but no room for my "stuff") The remaining books mostly deal with sailing small boats - a few Drascombe specific. The trailer is original - a 1992 EZLO. Good tires and all new bearings / hubs, as well as a extra set. I'd ask $18K for everything.Don Sannes
