Designed by founding members of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, Douglas and Wavell Urry and built by George Askew, Cresset was launched in 1929.  She is well-known up and down the West Coast of BC and Washington, having raced in the RVYC fleet for decades.
Cresset is 40 feet on deck, and spared out is 53'.  She is powered by an Isuzu 3LD1, which has fewer than 300 hours of use.  Her sails and sail covers are all less than two years old.Over the last seven years, Cresset has been entirely rebuilt and her owner was awarded "Best Restoration - Sailboat" at the well-regarded Victoria Classic Sailboat Festival in the fall of 2016.  This restoration included:
- New keel and floor bolts
- Many planks and frames
- New deck and house
- Refastened planking with bronze.
- New spars
- New rigging
- New sails
- New Isuzu 3LD1 on hydraulic drive
- All new systems (electric, water, propane)
- Simrad tiller pilot
- Standard Horizon GPS
- New wood stove
- Two good anchor systems
- Addition of a mizzen (she is now rigged as a yawl) Cresset is the perfect boat for someone wanting to get away for a season of sailing, or someone wanting to take friends out for a few hours around the bay.  She's a joy to sail and her owners hope to find someone who will enjoy this historic gem as they have.If you think that Cresset is the boat for you, please be in touch.
