Hi, I'm going to keep this ridiculously simple. We bought Tadita to sail the world with my family. I have problems with my inner ears and now freak out inside a boat at night. We are selling immediately since we are currently living aboard in a slip in San Francisco and the stress is to much for our family unit. I am actively marketing Tadita and she has been looked over by several pros and a few mechanics over the last week. All of her points that count are solid. She had a fire in 2009 in the captains cabin by way of electric blanket that mostly burned the headliner and some of the wood around the door but the damage was superficial. The burned material was discarded into the cockpit where it then caught the boom and main sail on fire. It dripped melted plastic onto the decks. The insurance then repaired the decks and auctioned the boat. The masts were removed and repainted, rewired, new halyards, new lighting, wind gear, new mast steps and the standing rigging was new at the time. There are no known major defects ie. structural, hull, rudder, motor....No motor smoke (unless you don't start her correctly)Folding prop works and moves lots o water in the sliprudder shaft and steering look good insideTrans shifts smooth no vibrationsTaxes are paid no lienssolid hull not corednew mast plates and steps in 200913.9 beam/ 6ft draft2 head/ 3 cabingood motor 3700 hoursrebuilt westbrooke gen.diver says no blisters or damage bottomsidelead not concrete ballastThe harbor master says that the slip is transferable- 60ft $720, we live board, you would have to clear that with him.Electronics have been removed and ready for updated gear. she has a sounder, Raymarine wind vane, auto pilot servo, integration is unknownAC function unknownWe purchased Tadita at the beginning of December to cruise as a family of 5 and are living aboard. Being new to boats and new sailors (I) personally did not know that my hearing issues and Tinnitus which cause me dizziness would bring on panic at night inside of a boat be it even a 50 foot Gulfstar. I am calling this a medical reason because it is almost unbearable for me. Thus we are motivated to sell Tadita immediately. Tadita needs to be finished rigging and could be sailing quickly in the right hands.Currently she needs her booms re installed properly. Newer Sparcraft main boom (nice upgrade) needs to be shortened and IS adjustable for length. She has a full set of sails all of which have been freshened up by Hood Sails or purchased from them. Hood sails fit the double reef, full batton main for the Sparcraft boom and will install to verify proper fit which we have already paid for. She will need a traveler if you desire one and a ridged boom vang all of which will be a major upgrade from her original gear. Tadita has some good equipment in the places that count and just needs to be finished.Perkins diesel is low hour and has been recently tuned and has new starter, alternator, electric fuel pump, glow plugs and all of the cooling system gone through by a local mechanic. Generator is westbrooke and has been rebuilt with under 100 hours!Tadita had her decks redone due to a cockpit fire in 2009. The interior captains cabin has also been repaired to a utility finish as well. We chose the Gulfstar 50 because it is a solid seaworthy boat made when materials were not skimped upon. She is not perfect but is awesome none the less. In the right hands she will be magnificent again! We are extremely motivated and Tadita shows pretty well! So if you are a serious buyer, please come and visit us and see the boat. Call me and I will give you as many details as I know. She is priced to sell asap. we are taking a lossIt's best to just call me with questions. She has not been surveyed, I saw her and wrote a check. At this price it's hard to miss. Look over the pics and then ask questions. She is Coast Guard documented and transfer is simple. We don't want a lot of hassle and realize this isn't ideal for everybody. There is someone out there however who is the right person and will chuckle into the future. I am a reputable business person and can provide proof. Happy bidding!
