HI, WELCOME TO MY LISTING, THIS IS A 45FT CANAL NARROWBOAT AND IS CURRENTLY IN READING ON THE RIVER THAMES. I SWAPPED MY BOAT FOR THIS BOAT RECENTLY BUT IVE HAD A CHANGE OF HEART DUE TO PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES SO I'M LISTING IT FOR A QUICK SALE OR SWAP FOR SOMETHING OF SIMILAR VALUE LIKE A VW TRANSPORTER, LAND ROVER DEFENDER OR ANOTHER BOAT.I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT NARROWBOATS BUT ILL TRY AND ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE.THE FIRST THING I FELT ABOUT THIS BOAT WAS ITS SOLID HEAVY DUTY CONSTRUCTION. THE STEELWORK LOOKS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND DOESNT SEEM IN ANY NEED OF REPAIR.THE PAINTWORK OUTSIDE IS PRETTY POOR BUT I HAVE THE PAINT TO BE ABLE TO PAINT IT VIRTUALLY ANY COLOUR YOU WANT.THE ENGINE IS AN AIR COOLED LISTER TWIN CYLINDER DIESEL THAT BARELY USES ANY DIESEL AT ALL IM TOLD. THE ENGINE HAS ALL BEEN STRIPPED DOWN BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND I HAVE PHOTOS TO PROVE IT. IM ALSO INFORMED IT HAS A PROP INSPECTION HATCH THATS VERY SOUGHT AFTER AS IT ENABLES YOU TO OPEN IT AND REMOVE ANY OBSTRUCTIONS OF THE PROP WITHOUT HAVING TO LIFT THE BOAT OUT OF THE WATER TO DO IT.TE HATCH LEADING TO THE INSIDE OF THE BOAT NEEDS REPLACING AS ITS PRETTY GASH BUT DOES KEEP THE RAIN OUT. INSIDE THE FLOOR, WALLS AND CEILING SEEMS SOLID AND USEABLE BUT I DYER NEED OF PAINTING WHICH I MAYBE ABLE TO DO IF THE WEATHER WARMS UP A BIT SOON BUT FOR THE SAKE OF THE SALE CONSIDER IT AS IT IS NOT WHAT IT WILL BE,THE AGA IS A WOOD BURNER AND LETS OUT A LOVELY WARM HEAT THAT IS PERFECT FOR A BOAT OF THIS SIZE, THERE IS ALSO A GAS COOKER FOR THE SUMMER COOKING AND THATS ALL HOOKED UP TO A GAS CYLINDER IN THE COCKPIT.THE KITCHEN UNITS WILL MAKE VERY GOOD FIRE WOOD FOR THE AGA AS THEY DESPERATELY NEED RIPPING OUT AND GETTING A NEW SET FROM IKEA ETC BUT THE BASICS ARE THERE LIKE 12V FRIDGE, SINK AND DRAIN AND BASIC PLUMBING.THE NEXT AREA IS A FULL SIZE BATH BUT AGAIN THIS NEEDS RIPPING OUT AND A SMALLER BATH FITTING WHICH I HAVE TO INCLUDE IN THE SALE, THE PREVIOUS OWNER FITTED IT HIGH ENOUGH TO DRAIN THE WATER STRAIGHT OUT ABOVE THE WATERLINE INSTEAD OF FITTING A WASTE WATER PUMP WHICH I ALSO HAVE TO INCLUDE IN THE SALE BUT THE TAPS ALL WORK SO ITS JUST A CASE OF CHANGING AND FITTING THE NEW ONE CORRECTLY. ON THE OPPOSITE OF THE BATH THERE IS A SPACE FOR A 12V ELECTRIC THETFORD CASSETTE TOILET AND A WASHING MACHING/SPIN DRYER WHICH I ALSO INCLUDE IN THE SALE.THE END BEDROOM IS PRETTY USELESS AND WANTS RIPPING OUT AND RE BUILDING TOO. THERE IS LED LIGHTS ALL AROUND THE INSIDE OF THE BARGE AT WAIST HEIGHT THAT CHANGES COLOUR BY REMOTE CONTROL AND 12V LIGHTING ON THE CEILING.TAKE IT THAT ALL THE FEATURES AND EQUIPMENT IS UNTESTED AND REQUIRES TLC AND YOU WONT GO FAR WRONG.BITS LIKE THE ANCHOR AND SOLAR PANEL ARE THE ONLY FEATURES OUTSIDE THE BOAT.THE DECK BOARDS NEED REPLACING BUT I HAVE THE WOOD FOR THAT AND THE HAND RAIL IN THE REAR COCKPIT NEEDS REPLACING AND I HAVE THAT TO GO WITH IT TOO, SO, ALL IN ALL ITS A GOOD SOLID BOAT THAT JUST NNEDS SOME TLC AND TIME SPENT ON IT.YES YOU CAN MOVE ONBOARD ONCE YOUVE PAID FOR IT BUT IT'LL NEED FIXING UP TO YOUR OWN STANDARDS, YES IT DOES WORK ON THE KEY AND CAN BE TAKEN ANYWHERE YOU LIKE BUT YOU'LL NEED TO CHECK YOUR OWN BOAT OVER AS I AM NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT ONCE YOU'VE BOUGHT IT.YOU'LL NEED A BOAT SAFETY CERTIFICATE AT SOME POINT BUT NOT SURE WHAT THE RULES ARE.NO YOU DONT NEED A QUALIFICATION TO DRIVE THIS BUT I WOULD SUGGEST YOU GET YOURSELF BOOKED ON A COURSE TO BE ON THE SAFESIDE.YOU'LL NEED TO PAY FOR BOAT INSURANCE EVEN IF ITS ONLY THIRD PARTY.YOU'LL NEED TO GET A THAMES LICENSE OR A LICENSE WHEREVER YOU TAKE THE BOAT.ALL THE PAINTS, PARTS, PLYWOOD FLOORING, NEW BATH, THETFORD TOILET ETC ETC WILL NEED TO BE COLLECTED FROM SOUTHAMPTON WITH A MONTH AS I DONT HAVE STORAGE FACILITIES.ANY MORE QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK BUT PLEASE REMEMBER THAT I'M SELLING A BOAT THAT IS A PROJECT/BLANK CANVAS NOT A NEW SUNSEEKER AND ITS UP TO YOU TO SURVEY THE BOAT FULLY BEFORE BUYING AND NOT TO WHINGE AFTER THE SALE HAS GONE THROUGH THAT THE KETTLE NEEDS A NEW FUSE ETC

ON THE OPPOSITE OF THE BATH THERE IS A SPACE FOR A 12V ELECTRIC THETFORD CASSETTE TOILET AND A WASHING MACHING/SPIN DRYER WHICH I ALSO INCLUDE IN THE SALE.THE END BEDROOM IS PRETTY USELESS AND WANTS RIPPING OUT AND RE BUILDING TOO.
