Shongalolo is a well presented example of a 42 foot cruiser stern narrowboat that was built by W and W engineers in 1987. She is powered by a Thorneycroft Mitsubishi marine diesel engine which is housed under the rear deck boards. From entering through the rear doors is the twin bedroom. Forward of the beds is a sink unit and storage. Following this there is a shower compartment to one side and C200 Thetford Cassette toilet on the opposite side of the boat. These two compartments have doors that close off the central gangway of the boat to give a full width bathroom. Next comes the galley with work surfaces on both sides, complete with full sized gas cooker, 12v fridge, sink and drainer. Finally comes the large saloon with sofa bed and doors opening out on to the well deck which benefits from a cratch and cover. This boat is heated throughout by radiators fed by a Webasto diesel heater.
