We have owned this yacht for 29 years since 1987 and have had fantastic holidays in France, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Madeira and the Canary Islands. We crossed the Atlantic in 1992 to 1993 and visited every island from Venezuela to the Virgin Islands. Our memories with her have made the decision to sell very difficult but we are now getting older and using her less. We sailed her to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands six years ago where we now sail her during the winter months. She is in a port, Gran Tarajal, with water and electricity included for 6€ per day where several people live aboard their boats so she provides cheap holiday accommodation.
She is ready for another trans-Atlantic ( but we are not). She has an Aries wind-vane steering system (the best and strongest), a Furuno radar fitted new in 2008, a Seago dinghy new in 2006. Her 25 HP engine was fitted new in 2001and has been serviced regularly since then. She has an Avon 4-man liferaft, a Garmin GPS 128, a licensed DSC radio telephone, an epirb registered emergency beacon, a Navtex receiver, a solar panel to keep the batteries charged (separate domestic and engine batteries), and an electric anchor winch.
She was built in 1966; an online search for Nicholson 32 describes as follows:- 'By modern standards Nicholson 32s are massively strongly built, and remain popular as economical go-anywhere cruisers. They have a very high reputation for seaworthiness, many having made long ocean passages'. No doubt you already know that if you are looking at our advert..
The wind powered generator shown in the photos is NOT included as it has been sold separately.
