Please note the updates as they happen towards the bottom of the pageUp for sale is ‘Pearly Diver’, a 40ft De Groot steel Flybridge Motor Cruiser built in 1981. She has been designed as a “liveaboard” but is also a comfortable cruiser. With a cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 12 knots she has excellent sea keeping qualities, having cruised the Norfolk Broads, Solent, River Thames, Medway and South Coast.Fully refurbished in the last few years and fitted out to a high standard she has lots of specially designed storage spaces. With over 6ft headroom throughout she has been fitted with new brown curtains, new taupe tweed polyester upholstery in the saloon and blue suede upholstery in the dining room. The saloon / wheel house area, galley and forward cabin have new ceilings, teak panels and Tek-Dek teak internal floors. The Webasto diesel heating and pressurised hot and cold water runs throughout. The purpose built engine room has a ventilation and extraction system housing two BMC 80HP naturally aspirated 4 cylinder diesel engines with two new stainless fuel tanks. The engines are extremely economical having been serviced annually and were last serviced in March 2012, having been hardly used since, they will be serviced this winter. There is also a 3KVA stand alone generator serviced in March 2012 and three domestic batteries new in 2012 charging from the alternator, battery charger and via 240v shore power system. Plus two dedicated engine batteries, one per engine. New rudders and stainless steel shafts were fitted in 2011 with PSS seals and glands repacked.A survey was carried out in 2014 and problems were found with the rear section of the hull. This was due to leaking water tanks and poorly installed shower fittings. All works carried out were under the supervision of a fully qualified marine surveyor.A further survey will be carried out in the coming weeks. These works have now been completed plus the hull has had a complete epoxy repaint externally and spray foam insulated.Too many minor works to list…..It has, in the last 2 years, had major works carried out to the stern area of the hull and the aft cabin refitted completely to give a light and airy, more modern feel, with a king size bed base. The forward cabin with en-suite heads has a double berth which can also be used as two single berths. The recently refitted aft cabin has a spacious double king size island berth with heads and a shower. The saloon table can also be dropped to make a double berth. The large galley with plenty of work surface has a standing Isotherm fridge, Frigoboat 12v water cooled freezer, 4 burner gas hob with oven and grill, 2 stainless steel sinks with a `nature-pure` water purifier system and a built in drainer. Opposite the galley is a saloon table which can comfortably seat 6 people. The spacious flybridge has dual controls and a purpose built locker to house a washing machine and a dryer. There is also a second locker to house all safety equipment and 2 gas bottles. The spacious decks are covered with Permateek synthetic non-slip teak making them safe to walk around. With new stainless steel deck gear including a Lewmar 12v anchor windlass, Houdini hatches, davits, re-furbished bathing platform with stainless steel ladder. This is a `work in progress` at present and due for completion by next spring.NB ..New stainless fuel tanks.Spray insulated rear cabin.Overhauled 5 KW Webasto heating system.New deck fuel fittings.LED lighting throughout.Refitted stern heads with new sea toilet and new sea-cocks.Our intentions were, and perhaps still are, to get this over to Europe and travel the French canals. As works are completed I will be updating the list ......and perhaps the price……………NB further survey was carried out this Friday****************************************Ok, just spent 4 hours with my marine surveyor. He has brought to my notice a few points. Anodes were incorrectly positioned and made suggestions. Cutlass bearing to propeller distance is too great and will cause excessive wear and made suggestions as to rectify the problem. Remove and shorten the prop shafts and remake the cutlass bearing holders... I will be discussing this rectification with the yard in the next couple of days. One thing he did say was........ `the biggest cause of boat fires were caused by the alternators`..... Both have gone off  for re-build / overhaul next week....£75.00 + a piece. Being genuine Marine alternators they are fully insulated models, not cheap car type alternators. Engine room fire suppression system requirements will be concentrated on the alternators.........I am looking at..... http://www.firetrace.co.uk/ 240 V Electrical system is up to current `regs` as required. He was impressed with many of the upgrades that have taken place to date. Suggestions as to how to install the new  fuel lines. Altogether a good review…………. More a small ship......Rather than a boat as he said...............**************************************************************************************21st August.....Just refitted the diving platform....2nd to last photo..............cost.....£250.00............10 person liferaft........purchased today.....requires servicing.Viewing essential.More photos and details upon request.....SSR no 165541Lying ashore for inspection at Melton/Woodbridge Suffolk IP12.Would consider a part exchange against a Camper van, Audii A3 or R8.......
