This has the 300 hp Volvo Penta GEN 5 engine which is more powerful and more fuel efficient than all that came before it. This new generation engine only became available THIS model year so a 2015 or older will not have it (some manufacturers it will be 2017 models before they have it). The best part is the closed cooling which makes winterization as easy as it is with a 4 stroke outboard (which doesn't get any easier). Local dealers are now ordering many boats with the Gen V 6 cyl 280HP because that one equals the old 300 HP. Performance on this one seems similar to the prior year's 350 HP. Read up on these new Gen 5 engines. If you thought you "needed" the 350HP, you don't.
