For sale is a 26ft New Zealand Kauri-planked cabin cruiser. It was built in 1959 by Ronstan, the Australian boats and fittings company, for the personal use of one of the boat builders. It was built at Howqua, Victoria, hence the name, and spent most of her life on Lake Eildon. It has a 27hp Yanmar diesel; accommodation for four; an electric head; sink with stainless water tank; electric anchor winch; and basic instrumentation. I purchased this boat four weeks ago to use her for a holiday on the Murray River, but found some issues upon receiving the boat from Victoria. Although I'd love to keep her, I don't have the expertise to bring her back to scratch, and so regrettably have decided to sell her. I found several broken ribs on the port side near the stern, and assume this happened during lifting.  These will require replacing or fitting with sister ribs. I also found a rib on the starboard side that need replacing due to it being soft. I suspect a couple of seams will need re-caulking also. She is on the hard at the Hindmarsh Island Marina ($40/wk).  She  can be inspected upon request, and I can be contacted via ebay, if you have any queries. She is a lovely old boat and I hope she finds someone who has the knowledge to restore her.
