Due to a change in business direction, my pride and joy ex prawn trawler Gracie M has to be sold. She has been my project of the last 3 years, and the reasons for sale are genuine. She has a brilliant hull, made of spotted gum, and is exceptionally well built. She was built by Taylor Brothers at Narooma in 1976, and she is currently laying in Forsters Bay, Narooma. She has no main engine, however is fitted with an excellent diesel generator, built by myself, which was commissioned in February this year. The generator is hand crank start utilising a new - old - stock Petter Diesel twin cylinder engine bought from army surplus and stored for 40 years. The unit provides 4kva of single phase mains power, 85 amps of 12 volt power, and 160 amps of 24 volt power. It also provides hydraulic power for the steering system. The steering system and rudder is complete and operational and fitted with a brand new steering ram and hydraulic hoses. The prop shaft and support bearing, stern gland and massive three bladed 46 inch diameter bronze prop are all fitted, in good order and ready for use. A main engine is all that is required to make this vessel operational. The bilge pumping system consists of two 1500 gallon per hour 12 volt bilge pumps, activated by float switches, professionally fitted and wired through a professional grade electrical system and fuse box. There are also 2x2000 gallon per hour submersible 240 volt pumps which are triggered by float switches and powered by the ship board generator. The vessel is fitted with two giant 12 volt, 200 amp hour deep cycle batteries giving her 400 amp hours of power, and this is backed up by 250 watts of solar power regulated by a professional grade solar regulator. A professional grade 12 to 240 volt 1500 watt inverter is also fitted, is operational, and ready to be wired into the vessels switch board to provide mains power without running the generator. A full consist of original, full sized brass and copper navigation lights are fitted which have been modified to accept easily available standard bulb types. All are wired into the vessels switchboard and fully operational. Various external repairs will be required to the deck and bulwarks, and some of the sponsons/gunnels, however structurally the vessel is in excellent condition throughout and her hull will pass any test. This vessel represents an opportunity to create an exceptionally well built ocean going cruiser, without major hull work being required. The items listed above represent many, many thousands of dollars of equipment, and many hundreds of hours of work by myself to install and commission. All work is of high standards, and will pass any test asked of it. Unlike many other 'project' vessels which arrive on the market, this is not a vessel which has been neglected by its current owners. The equipment listed above is NOT many years old and showing the signs of exposure to harsh conditions, it is all new equipment, which has been fitted over the last 10 months in preparation for the installation of her main engine and her re commissioning. Unfortunately, a new business interest is depriving me of the time to complete the final stages, and hence my loss (painful though it may be) is your gain. If you are a serious buyer, please do get in touch via ebay message and I will do my best to answer your questions. Upon sale, the vessel must be moved to a mooring of your choice, unless an arrangement can be made with the owner of the commercial mooring she currently resides on. This will be up to you to arrange, however I can put you in touch with the necessary contacts. This auction is strictly a bid to buy auction, and not a 'bid to look then have a think about it' variety. Sale is final upon auction end, contact is required within 24 hours of auction end and payment is required within 3 business days. If you can not conform to the above guidelines, please do not bid. Thank you.
