Hobie 18 with trailerMy interpretation of the hull number says that she was made in July of 1987.  I purchased her in the early 1990's and kept her at Edisto Beach SC. The sailing paraphernalia was kept in dry storage while the boat sat outside.Anticipating Hurricane Matthew a few weeks ago, I brought her to Columbia, SC [approx 150 miles] without incident. I wish that I could say that everything is perfect and she is ready to set sail. Unfortunately, around 10 years ago, a freak wind storm picked her up off of the trailer and set her down in a way that broke the right pontoon [see pix].  Additionally, both rudders and the mastbase hinge was broken.In preparation to selling, I completely pressure washed the hull as well as the trailer. I was totally impressed by the quality of Hobie construction given how well she has held up out in the elements for the last twenty years and how easily she has cleaned up.She is being sold with the following:28 Foot Mast & Boom
