This pristine Bill Shaw designed Pearson 35 cruiser is priced to sell as the owner has moved away and wants to get her in the best hands right in time for the beautiful Fall sailing season. This is a deal you don't want to pass up.
The 1981 Pearson 35 is easily the best boat for the Chesapeake Bay. Her spacious cockpit can comfortably hold 10 people for an afternoon sail. Her ample cabin space comfortably sleeps six, making her a great weekender with friends or family.
Her drop centerboard allows you to explore the shallow creeks of the Chesapeake with a 3'9'' draft with the board up but also offers stability when needed by simply dropping the board to a whopping 7' 6" draft.
The P35's hull is solidly constructed of fiberglass and plastic resins. The quality of construction falls in an area somewhere above the average production boat builder and below the high-end builder.
The decks are built of a fiberglass composite with balsa wood core material. The deck and hull are joined on an inward flange with mechanical fasteners and sealant. There is an adequately sized head along the port side with hanging locker and storage opposite.
Her strongest point of sail, as would be expected, is reaching although, if you don't overpower with too much sail area, she will sail to weather quite respectably as well. The 35's centerboard allows for more harbors and gunk-holes. The board itself assures upwind performance the the full keel gives great tracking ability
