Alibi is a 38' cutter-rigged masthead sloop with a deep centre cockpit and fin keel. Draft 1.65m beam 3.6m. She is a Tosca 36 design by Angelos Lavranos, built in South Africa and put into service in 1988. She is fitted out as a self sufficient liveaboard cruiser. We have sailed her from Dartmouth to Barcelona via Ibiza and Mallorca over a three year period.Construction: GRP throughout, built to Lloyds scantlings. Drawings and construction details are held by Lavranos in New Zealand who is happy to email them for a small fee.Specification and equipment. From the pointy end... Stainless pulpit rail with twin anchor rollers and nav lights. 35kg DELTA anchor on 1350kg swivel and 35 metres of 10mm galvanised chain in good condition, with another 40m of 16mm Octoplait warp on the end. Chain and warp in self draining locker. Lofrans Tigres anchor windlass, rope and chain gypsies with wireless remote control which works all over the boat plus backup wired control.Kedge anchor with 10m chain in kedge bin on pushpit rail.Spare 25kg CQR in locker.Stainless stanchions and triple wire guardrails all roundSailplan: 130% genoa with UV strip on Profurl furler. Fully battened slab reefed (3 points) main on Ronstadt sail slides - easy to raise and comes down like a greased wardrobe by lazyjacks into a fully zipped sailbag with seperate mast cowl. The inner forestay is not used.Clip-on lifeline from cockpit to bow.At the mast: Keel stepped mast, 3 Lewmar self tailing winches, 3 reefing lines, outhaul. All running rigging replaced in 2012. Solid boom vang on 3:1 rope pulley. Self stowing whisker pole for poling out the genoa. Mast mounted deck light.Rigging is all stainless 8mm wireSprayhood with all round windows.Cushioned centre cockpit with wheel, compass, Autohelm computer, deep lazarette with liferaft, 1kW petrol generator, 240v fuse board.2 x Lewmar 46 primary winches and 2 x Lewmar30 aux winches.On the sternrail/pushpit: Lifebuoy, throwing line, danbuoy. Extensive selection of mooring lines. Folding s/s swim ladder on the sugarscoop stern. Aluminium custom passarelle. Suzuki 4hp 2 stroke outboard with raise/lower tackle for easy mounting to tender.In the forepeak: twin bunks with infill if required to make large double. Extensive storage, 3 drawers, wardrobe.Heads: Standard hand pumped heads, large washbasin, shower attachment and wetroom base which drains to bilges. Holding tank of 80 litres fitted and working with electric macerator pump which pumps to sea. We were going to fit a pump out point on the deck but found that the facilities in the Balaeric marinas were either broken or not available for use so never bothered.Hot water throughout the boat is from an immersion heater.Saloon: Bunks/seating for 6 with masses of underseat storage and lockers. Folding table. LCD 15" TV. Fan. Chronometer.LED low-voltage lighting throughout the boat.CO and smoke detectors, gas alarm in bilges. 3 x powder extinguishers, 1 x fire blanket in galley.Stereo system in saloon, also piped to aft cabin.Galley: Double sink, 12v chest fridge. Eco power: high power wind generator and 3 x solar panels (200W) handled by dedicated active controller.DC power: Independant 12 switched mode power supply (80A)Charging: From Eco or independant NUMAX 240v charger.Tender: Airdeck inflatable 3 person solid transom with pump.Alibi has a secure marina berth 20 mins northeast of Barcelona and is afloat there. The adjacent town is a lively and thriving community with a wide range of shops and restaurants. The main train line is a 5 minute walk and runs to Barcelona and all points northeast. El Prat airport is easily accessible. The berth is rented privately rather than through the marina and all the normal services are on hand including free parking, modern clean showers and WIFI. Marina staff and marinieros speak English and are very helpful and friendly.
