Incase you were not aware, Nelson boats are one of the best make boats around, and the 34 's are still used in the royal navy, as pilot boats and as police boats due to their solid build and great seaworthyness. She has been fitted out as an ideal live aboard as I had intended to travel the French inland waterways. But due to a relationship breakdown, and purchase of a houseboat, I have decided to sell her, after always saying I never would. She is currently berthed in Morlaix marina, northern Brittany. Fees paid until the end of the year. If anyone is considering keeping her there, they can even though there is a three year waiting list now for new vessels . The marina is in the centre of a beautiful old town, right next to bars ect, and believe us the cheapest marina in France. About Gammarus, she has had alot of major work done in the last 5 years or so. New woodwork Inc gunnels, sterntube , propeller, propeller shaft, bulkheads, an aquadrive ( gearbox coupling than allows engine to sit flat and sit on cushy mounts to reduce vibration. Aquadrives are fitted on alot of commercial vessels, are american and better than the uk python drive I believe, certainly cost me alot more. Has a furuno radar, holding tanks for the canals, hot running water with the best shower I've ever had. DSC radio, colour plotter with up to date card. Smev 4 burner hob/grill/oven. Freezer, Dometic fridge powered by gas/12v/mains. Led lighting. Stainless Whittall davitts . She has been re gelcoat too, much better than bring painted. There are some minor jobs to do, but just diy jobs, that can possibly get done before the sale. She has a Perkins 4236 (85hp /67kw). These engines are known to be very reliable, cheap for parts and very economical too. I've crossed the English channel 3 times in her, Salcombe to Roscoff, then to Morlaix, approx 110nm. On each crossing consumed about 60-70 litres if diesel cruising at a steady 7 knots. As for price, South West Yacht brokers put her up for £27,500. I will now take over £10,000 less than this, a huge reduction. It's priced to sell now as I cannot warrant having two boats. Sure I will regret it one day, but must move on.
