Inventory # 9937 Location: Chesapeake, VA General Description: This 2002 43.8' Ocean Yachts 44 Super Sport was damaged from collision suspected to be with a cement piling to port bow above waterline. Port bow hull above the waterline damaged due to collision with bridge approximately 20’ x 4’. Damage extends to the inside: Bulkheads and cabinetry damage in the port state room and V-berth. The forward head has cracks and damaged cabinetry. The top deck on the port bow also has damage, cracks.The forward damaged area laminate had buckled and cracked along a 1’X3’ area. There was a jagged 45”X2” diagonal crack in the aft section of the damaged area. 10’ from the stem there were 12’ and 30’ cracks in the laminate on the port side deck. The fourth and fifth port bow rail stanchions were pulled from the laminate and the bow rail was bent near the fifth stanchion. Bent port side bow rail and Port damaged stanchion, bent. Cracks on port deck forward of stanchion. Shattered laminate below port rubrail. Inside the anchor locker accessed from the forward shower stall, damaged laminate and cracked tabbing was noted on the port side. Port side damage to forward portion of bow, midsection of port bow damage and port aft-section of bow damage. The 4th and 5th port bow rail stanchions were pulled from the laminate and the bow rail was bent near the 5th stanchion. No damage was noted below the waterline. The boat was given a sea trial post accident, brought up to plain and no unusual handling characteristics were noted. Not all equipment could be tested as no power to vessel at time of inspection. Other: AC, Cruisaire, appeared in fair condition, not tested as no power to vessel. Anchor locker shows cracked laminate on port side from accident. Bow pulpit Flybridge and hardtop with side curtains in good condition. Benchseats forward and to starboard with storage underneath and 2 helm seats. Gauges and controls appeared to be in good condition, unable to test at this inspection. Hardtop/Radar/Flybridge Rubrail: Stainless steel on white plastic, several dents on port bow. The rubrail and rubrail backing was damaged, crushed in some areas along a 10’ section beginning 10’ from the stem and continuing aft. Swim ladder in good condition. Swim platform in good condition. Transom door in good condition. Trim tabs, Bennett, appeared in good condition, not tested. Upholstery, exterior, in fair condition, helms seats need cleaning. Washdown appeared in good condition, not tested. Water heater, GSW 19 gallon, appeared in good condition, not tested. Sea trial conducted post incident, no issues found. Starboard fuel tank leaking: source unknown, possibly corrosion. Tank has been drained, but there is still fuel pooled under the starboard engine. Diesel fumes have caused paint to bubble on the lower portions of the starboard engine.
Transmission: ZF280A Transmission, unable to test, condition unknown. Sea trial conducted post accident, no issues found.
Generator / Battery: Westerbeke 7.6BTD, appeared to be in good condition, not tested, condition unknown. House batteries, West Marine, were dead and there was no access to shore power at the dock so systems were not checked. Abso Charger, 60 amp, appeared in good condition, not tested.
Electronics: Garmin GPSmap 7612xsv, Ray Marine Tri Data and Icom VHF Radios, Samsung TV’s and Fusion MS-NRX2008i stereo, Danforth compass. Unable to test electronics at this inspection as no power to the vessel, but were reported operable at time of accident in July, 2016, current condition unknown.
Galley: Galley and Interior: Galley with sink, storage, Samsung Microwave, Isotherm SS double drawer, under counter, Kenyon double burner glass top. Appliances appeared in good condition but no appliances tested at this inspection, condition unknown. Interior in good condition with wood trim, convertible dinette with L-shaped settee, ice maker, not tested, two staterooms and two heads. The port side guest stateroom, on the outboard side the cabinetry was cracked and damaged. The bulkhead inside the hanging locker was crushed. The outboard bunk, bulkheads and cabinetry/hanging locker damaged on port side guest room. In the master stateroom, the V-berth, the bed and side tables were broken and the fore and aft bulkheads were damaged on the port side extending inboard 12”. The V-berth door was ripped off of its hinges. Upholstery in good condition, like new. Headliner like new in salon, some damage in staterooms. Teak and holly laminate sole in salon in good condition.
Ground Tackle: Lewmar windlass appeared in good condition, unable to test at this inspection as no power to vessel.
Canvas, Mast Rigging, Sails: Isinglass/canvas in good condition.
Head: Two heads with sink, shower, vanity, mirror and electric marine head, not tested. Forward of the V-berth is the master head. The plastic shower door was ripped off its hinges and broken at the top and the bottom. A portside shelf had fallen off the port side wall and the port bulkhead inside the shower was cracked.Shipping: Item sold "where is". Assistance with shipping is generally available; however, buyer is responsible for costs of preparing item for shipment and charges for loading vessel onto trailer or transport.

The winning bidder ("buyer") is allowed an inspection period to verify that the item substantially complies with the published description. A buyer who has inspected an item prior to final bid shall be deemed to have accepted the condition of the item at the time of the inspection but may reserve inspection following close of the auction only as to any changes in the item between the time of the initial inspection and a subsequent inspection made within the time for voiding the sale as set forth herein.
