An abandoned refit - this Westerly Berwick sloop needs someone to finish her off and go sailing.Westerlys of this type are well known to be excellent sea boats - and with the bilge keels they are especially good for our Irish Sea coastline. We are including 12 months FREE hard standing / marina berthing as this boat could be ideal for someone looking for a cost-effective way into boating. This is a 31ft 6 berth yacht - 2 in the fore cabin, 2 in the saloon and 2 quarter berths. We are describing this as a project boat - not fit for purpose at the time of writing. All information is offered in good faith as a guide - but I am not a surveyor or marine engineer and cannot make any guarantees regarding the true the extent of the work that will be required to make her fit for purpose again. The boat is sold as seen and we would strongly recommend buyers engage an independent marine survey prior to purchase. In around 2008 a brand new Beta 28hp diesel engine was installed in the boat - but as far as we know it has never been run - most of the installation looks to have been done (the engine seems to be  mounted, the prop shaft seems to be in place, the instrument panel is fitted and the control cables seem to be in place - I think it needs its fuel and water supply connecting as the next steps to being able to run the engine for the first time.) A new propeller is among the boat's inventory - but this is currently not fitted to the shaft. The mainsail has an in mast furling system - the sail looks in serviceable condition. The furling jib is in place but we suspect will at least need a new UV strip and servicing. We will include 12 months hard-standing FREE in our boatyard where she is now to allow someone to complete the refit - with discount from our chandlery. The catch? We are unable to move the boat from her current location until next Summer. After this time we can move her and launch her - the free 12 months can include time afloat on a marina berth once launched.Viewing is by prior appointment (warning - access is by a high ladder)
