They were priced for the upper middle class but the boats were built to a quality standard that flirted with the much more expensive blue water passage making yacht brands. Catalina 30s have a huge following and re-sale value since nearly every marina in North and South America and Europe have at least one or a few Catalina 30s. Millions of people have experience sailing these fine classic yachts and there is a huge wealth of information about restoring them and getting spare parts is cheap and easy.
