Sailboat investment opportunity. Catalina 30s have a very stable price range for boats in working condition, from $15K for ugly project boats to $25K to $30K for well maintained ones. They are the most commonly bought and sold sailboat in the US and nearly every marina from Seattle to Florida and beyond has at least two or three Catalina 30s parked in slips, ready to sail. We are absolutely desperate for some quick cash to pay our mortgage and other month-end-bills and the only thing of value we have to sell of value quickly is this Catalina 30, so Fire Sale Auction price on this one. Very rare to find a Catalina 30, even on Ebay auction for one that is in good shape structurally and has the extras like this one has of roller furling and wheel steering and self tailing winches for less than $12K. So our loss is your opportunity. We just hope it will go to a good home with someone who will give it a full restoration and teach the next generation to sail on this terrific boat. Buy this boat for under $8K, add a re-built inboard motor for another $2K or $3K, do a few weekends of small restoration projects and you will have a sailboat easily worth $20,000. You could re-sell it for a $10,000 profit while you enjoy sailing and racing on it on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay outside Annapolis Maryland. Annapolis is arguably the world capital of sailing and there are more sailors per capita than anywhere else in the world. As many people know, where a boat is located can be more valuable than the boat itself given that it can cost thousands of dollars to transport a boat across the country. Catalina 30s are far and away the most commonly bought and sold sailboat in Annapolis as well as elsewhere in America. This makes Annapolis the perfect place to fully restore a boat because there is more competition to provide marine services and affordable used parts and replacement motors etc. than anywhere else in the world, and also the best re-sale market anywhere in the world. The slip is available for the future and is at a fantastic resort style marina offering beautiful grounds and swimming pool, nice tile and stainless showers and rest rooms, full laundry facilities, key card protected front gate, ice, fuel pumps and pump out station and fantastic bars and restaurants just a short dingy ride or bike ride away and a small beach and kayak rack. All this with electricity and water included is only $350 per month and you can spend weekends vacationing on the boat with fishing and crabbing and BBQ grills and access to fantastic protected sailing waters on the large coastal marine estuary of the beautiful Magothy River and hundreds of miles of the world's most fantastic sailing on the Chesapeake Bay just an hour's sail east from the marina. I also have a place that offers long term storage on jack stands for peace of mind at incredibly reasonable prices of under $100 per month when paid six months at a time.Self Tailing winches and all lines run to cockpit for easy single handing.PAYMENT DUE IN FULL WITHIN 24 HOURS. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BOAT OR WANT TO DISCUSS YOUR CRUISING PLANS FEEL FREE TO GIVE ME A CALL. WILLIAM 970 319-4361The Catalina 30 was the most popular sailboat ever built, and for good reason. They were priced for the upper middle class but the boats were built to a quality standard that flirted with the much more expensive blue water passage making yacht brands. Catalina 30s have a huge following and re-sale value since nearly every marina in North and South America and Europe have at least one or a few Catalina 30s. Millions of people have experience sailing these fine classic yachts and there is a huge wealth of information about restoring them and getting spare parts is cheap and easy. There is even a 300 plus page manual published that specifically covers how to make every imaginable sort of upgrade or repair. These boats have an incredibly large interior and very comfortable deck layout for a 30 foot boat. They have been sailed across oceans to many foreign countries. There is even a website dedicated to the stories of sailors who have made long trans-oceanic voyages on Catalina 30s. They are considered mostly a coastal cruiser and a boat for the Caribbean islands and the California coastal islands, but many have gone on much longer passages successfully. They also make a fantastic club racing sailboat and on a PHRF rating system they can compete and win against many more streamlined strictly racing sailboats.Inside they are about as large as the average 35 foot vessel in other brands. This boat has the valuable and sought after upgrades of wheel steering console, cockpit folding table, roller furling jib, bow sprit that increases sail area and the tall rig. It has sleeping berths inside for up to 7 people, which is practically unheard of for a 30 foot boat. Check on Yachtworld and Sailboatlistings website and you will see that their are plenty of Catalina 30s for sale across the US with average prices between $20,000 to $35,000. These prices stay very stable, since the Catalina 30 is basically the gold standard by which all other yacht prices are measured. As you see in photos. Pretty good shape except it needs an outboard motor installed or a re-power with a new inboard motor and electrical breakers need to be hooked up again and electronics and navigation lights tested and any bugs worked out. Decks are very solid. Teak has been recently sanded and freshly varnished with Zspar Captains Varnish. Brand new cushion covers on the main salon cushions. Very nice galley stove. 32 feet overall when you include the bow sprit.Again, if you have questions feel free to call me. I live in a mountainous area where cell phone service is a bit spotty so if you try to call and don't reach me first try, give it another try a little bit later. William 970 319-4361The auction closes on Friday afternoon just after 1:30pm Eastern Time. If you want to win the boat make sure to get your best bid in early or set the alarm on your phone and be ready to get back to the computer for the final few minutes of the auction. Sometimes the final five minutes of the auction will determine who wins the auction, and this fine family cruising sailboat will go to the highest bidder no matter what price the auction closes for. Hope it goes to a good home ! If you are the high bidder at the end of the auction please call me right away to discuss the details of the transaction and so I can get your info to prepare the bill of sale. Boat is sold with a clear Maryland title.
