Build The boat is 23' long with an 8' beam and 2'9” draft. The Black Prince is the strongest, most well laid up GRP boat that Shetland ever made and is as tough as old boots. Since purchasing the boat we have carried out a complete overhaul with numerous works. The first thing we did was to remove all of the old anti-foul layers and apply new anti-foul. The boat has been taken out of the water each winter since 2012 and anti-fouled every year. The hull has also been polished every year. One of the most time consuming jobs has been to remove the old carpet and fit new marine carpet lining on top of Armaflex insulation. This has made a huge difference to the boat meaning it is cool on unbearably hot summer days and warm & dry without condensation in the winter months. The engine and outdrive leg have both been serviced since we have owned the boat with a new pump and impeller, all new belts including cam belt and replacement bellows. The anodes have been replaced regularly as required to prevent any galvanic erosion. We had the windows removed, sealed and re-fitted and rebuilt the engine bay in stronger 18mm marine ply. Two marine ply cabinets were made to fit under the helmsman and navigators seats. These seats now turn around to face the rear for socialising when moored up or at anchor. One of the cabinets contains a Waeco Coolmatic fridge to keep the G&Ts cool. This is powered by its own dedicated 100ah battery which is charged by a dedicated 100watt roof top solar panel. There are numerous videos of the boat on our youtube channel. Just type in “Busy with Fizzy” into the youtube search box. We have stayed on board whilst cruising for around 7-10 days on numerous occasions and the boat has been very comfortable. She is well set up for comfortable, economic cruising and everything works. The beauty of having the trailer is that this boat is capable of being towed to and cruised along most of the UK (apart from narrow beam canals). The boat is equally at home on the backwaters of the River Avon or the shores of Lake Windermere as she is rounding the Needles off the coast of the Isle of Wight. We are often complemented on how good and polished the boat looks for its age. This is a turn the key and go package in very good condition. Please feel free to ask any questions or to request a viewing. The boat is priced sensibly in line with its value, so please no time wasters with derisory offers. We will require a £200 non-refundable deposit to secure the sale. To arrange a viewing contact Billy on 07876 337159 or Louise on 07747 071082 Thank you
