Description
Currently moored close to Hungerford. THISTLE is beautifully designed and crafted with her hull and fit out by the master of boat builders. She is a very pretty boat which, as a result of the unique design, handles easily and magnificently. I have lived aboard very comfortably full time for the last 3 years (with Patch the dog). The only reason I am parting with her is that the time has come to be a landlubber. She is my third boat and I would only recommend sharing THISTLE if you really love your co-habitee as she is quite cosy. However my daughter and her 6ft plus partner enjoyed living on it for weeks at a time and managed fineThe vintage Lister engine is a thing of beauty - if you like this sort of thing. The kitchen is fully fitted with a newly replaced oven. The bedroom is separate and the bathroom houses a larger than standard shower with stainless steel tray. There is a large capacity water tank aboard which easily lasts me three weeks. There are two side hatches (although only one in operation currently the second could be reinstated) and a pigeon box skylight in the bedroom. Thistle was surveyed (report available) and blacked two years ag, the roof was newly painted last summer. Boat safety certificate is due 2018. A four stage charger is fitted and running the suitcase style generator (included in the price) for about an hour a day provides plenty of power. The domestic batteries are about a year old and the engine battery recently replaced.I've always thought it the prettiest little narrowboat I've ever seen, and I'm not the only one.
