1960 Penn Yan Niagara w/ 40 hp Johnson on a Holsclaw TrailerDescription: This little Penn Yan is a true "Barn Find" as it was pulled out of a barn last week after 26 years of storage. One of the photos shows her just after being pulled into the sunlight with the last registration of 1990 on the hull. The boat was found just 6 miles from the dealership where it was originally purchased in 1961. This is one of the most original Penn Yan Niagara boats you will find and the photos depict her in it's current state after a soap and water clean up and NO touch up to finishes.Hull: The hull appears to be in very sound condition with no signs of rot or deterioration. The paint and varnish is peeling and flaking in places but all could be touched up or "maintained" instead of having a full restoration. On the starboard side of the hull there is a scrape on the lower side of one of the laps, above the waterline. The scrape is above 6 inches long and 1/8 inch wide and can be easily filled and sanded. The interior varnish is in nice condition and could simply be gone over to bring to a very good condition. The ribs and structural components appear in good condition. The decks and topsides are varnished and will require little more than some light varnish to become a nice original condition.Motor: The motor is a 1961 40 hp Johnson outboard that appears to be in average condition. The power head is loose and turns over with ease and has compression. There is corrosion and paint missing from the power head from excessive mouse droppings under the hood. The motor has not been started and I am sure a carburetor cleaning and tune up to get her up and running. The exterior condition is in good condition given the age of the motor.Trailer: The trailer is the original trailer sold with the boat and appears to be in very good structural condition. There is surface rust coming through the paint bit there is no corrosion that affects the structural integrity of the trailer. The tires will need to be changed for any extended trip due to dry rot deterioration over time. The lights are not in working condition and will need repaired or replaced.Extras: There is a full mooring cover that is in good condition with the exception of a few mouse chewed holes that are repairable. There are custom made tops for the forward seats to enclose the top so you can sit on top of the seat backs. These were made by the prior owner and simply slide in and out of the top of the seats. You may notice these in the photos. Thank you Important Additional InformationPayment InformationPayPal is the preferred method of deposit and / or payment.
