Description

Katrina is a 36ft Springer narrowboat built around 1980 and ready for a total refit. Her hull has been part grit blasted but we ran out of time for this season. It will need some welding, as is typical of a narrowboat - they need replating every ten years or so. However, the welding and reblacking will see her good to go for several years. The cabin area is solid outside, and with condensation from tired windows causing surface rust inside. This can also be blasted or treated by hand. Windows would benefit from replacing. Inside roof and floor intact. There's room for a bedroom area, kitchen, shower room and lounge, and she has a good sized rear outside deck area perfect for sipping Pimms next year whilst moored on a picturesque canal! Well, that was our intention anyway, before hubby got a contract in Belgium and our free time dropped to almost zero!! Katrina desperately needs a new home, and owners who have the time to refit her ready for a glorious summer of pottering on the water. As people as questions I will update the listing here so that you can all see the answers:The hull: according to the professional grit blaster who has done nearly half of the hull, the sides are pretty good, and the welding would be on the bottom. I believe an entire hull plating is around £6-7,000 so probably a third of that.Delivery: to Manchester is £800 and that's about 300 miles. I'm sure it would be pretty pro rata for those of you that have asked based on assorted locations. 150 miles would be roughly £400. I'm getting so many enquiries that I can't ask my local boat transporter for every location!!
