Ex-RNLI Y-Class Boat RIB SIB
Probably the last released by the RNLI and in superb condition As carried by Severn or Tamar Class ILB's generally for close to shore use in the UK these are incredibly tough and reliable small inflatable boats. To see one of these boats in action please click here: The RNLI used to release these for sale after service but this was stopped a few years ago. Consequently they are now very hard to find as most owners tend to keep them for a long time. This one was an exception as it came via a RNLI training school earlier this year. It is a very late model, Y-162 and totally complete with mattress, oars, anchor box etc. The transom is in truly fantastic condition and has not been cut down as so many are. All valves, bottle jacks and the tubes are in lovely condition. The elastic has been renewed on the storage bags. The floor boards were removed for a full re-varnish and all hardware was removed from the transom for that to be sanded and fully re-varnished too. The main boat has been given the Fairy Power Spray once over and looks lovely. Note: these are not your average Zodiac, Honwave etc 'SIB' = Soft Inflatable Boat, ie the boat does not have a rigid hull like a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) - they are made of very strong Hypalon matarial here in the UK, not PVC and the general construction (30mm mahognany marine ply transom, floor etc) is super heavy duty. Obviously this was a working boat and like all ex-RNLI boats will have a few scuffs etc but it is one of the very best out there in private hands. The RNLI use 15hp Mariner 2 strokes with their Y-Class boats but the boat will easily handle 25hp. An engine is NOT included. Total length is around 3.5m. These are very heavy boats. A trailer is not included and will be required to collect the boat although it may be possible to transport it on the roof of a large van or 4x4. Terms: the boat will only be sold FACE TO FACE. A deposit will be required and full payment will need to be paid via bank transfer from a UK bank or cash on collection. No other means of payment will be accepted.
