One of the last remaining Norfolk Broads Graham Bunn Windboats of her size, Southwind (B249) is a unique beautifully designed river cruiser. She is all mahogany (varnished to waterline), with a centre cockpit and folding canopy. She is 32ft in length and 9ft beam. The inside is largely original, sleeping four with aft cabin and saloon twin berth. Purchased as a project to restore the inside, however we are reluctantly selling unfinished due to relocation. The hull was restored in 2014 by Classic Boat Restoration Services. To protect her we commissioned an all-over cover that goes to the waterline, this was completed in 2015 and is beige with windows (with flaps), zipped in three parts. She is powered by a Beta 35hp diesel inboard engine, which is in good working order. This was new in 2005 and since it's installation it has had light use, and is currently in full working order. Also in 2005 a new calorifier, plastic fuel tank, plastic holding tank, gas locker and jabsco manual toilet were fitted. Current boat safety certificate valid until April 2018. Collection from Windsor, Berkshire. Pay by direct bank transfer, cheque (once cleared) or cash. She is in need of some work (mainly cosmetic) internally to finish her off. The saloon and aft cabin are serviceable. The galley comprises of a stainless steel basin at present, galley cupboards and worktop and a suitable stove need to be fitted (gas piping is already in place). Heads has working toilet and basin, but needs some finishing off. She is 70 this year, built by Windboats, the luxury yacht builders who are still operating from Wroxham. For a brief history of Windboats (where Southwind is mentioned) see this link: http://www.windboats.co.uk/history/ When we purchased her she was named Cassandra, upon registering her with the Environment Agency we changed her back to her original name of Southwind. See this Broads website for brief history of ownership http://www.broads.org.uk/wiki/index.php5?title=Boat_Details&BoatId=2454&BoatHistory=3097 Accommodation info:Step into the centre cockpit, through double doors steps take you towards the bow down into the saloon, single bunk on port and starboard side with storage below and cupboard space at the forward end of each bunk. There is a back rest that slots into a housing on each bunk to form a back rest turning the bunks into bench seats. Through double doors towards the bow, there is a stainless steel basin on the starboard side and space for a cooker on the port side. Work has been started to extend the kitchen into the former utility room at the bow. Behind a bulkhead in the bow there is a water tank and storage space below. From the cockpit aft cabin, on the port side there is a small heads. Work has been started to enlarge this, to allow a shower to be fitted. A jabsco manual toilet is against the port side and and a wash basin on the bulkhead to the cockpit. On the starboard side there is a wardrobe, between this and the stern of the boat there is a single bunk which is to be altered to a crossways double bunk. Equipment info:In the cockpit to starboard there is a plastic fuel tank beneath the bench seat, and a battery charger. On the port side in the engine bay there is a plastic waste holding tank. Also in the engine bay there is a calorifier to heat water from the engine. Two small gas bottles in locker to the port side of the wheelhouse. Steps and small mast with flag hoists. All-over beige cover zipped in three parts that goes to the waterline to protect varnish from bleaching, two large windows over cockpit and three smaller windows over aft cabin and heads. Burgundy cockpit canopy cover and two burgundy hatch covers. We hope she will go to some great new owners! For any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us
