Description Year of Registration: 2005 Use: Fresh Water, Salt Water Manufacturer: Beneteau Engine Type: Diesel Type: Antares 9.80 Engine Manufacturer: Nanni Length (Feet): 32 feet 10 inches Engine Model: TD 4390 Trailer: Not Included
Please find for sale ‘Kobi’ - a very well maintained example of the popular Beneteau Antares 9.80. She was commissioned in 2005 and benefits from a huge specification with many creature comforts & navigational aids and with separate toilet/shower compartment.
Builder: BeneteauDesigner: Beneteau PowerYear: 2005Length: 32' 10"Engine: Twin Nanni 4.390 TDiHull: Fibreglass/GRPCruising Speed: 20 knotsMax Speed: 28 knotsPrice: £63,950We bought her in April this year and we are moored in Poole, Dorset, and have had the most amazing summer on her - it’s nearly as much fun just sitting on her in the marina with a glass of wine with friends as exploring Poole harbour, winding our way up the Wareham river or motoring over to the Isle of Wight. Her seaworthiness is amazing, she is a dream on still water but she travels beautifully through choppy water and inspires confidence with her impressive hull design. Most of our motoring has been from the flybridge, which gives fantastic views and amazing control of the boat because of the 360-degree vision, however controlling from the wheelhouse is great on a less sunny day with friends sat around the comfortable sofa. We love getting aboard, closing the curtains and watching a film or listening to music through the hi-fi. Really good speakers, by the way.She has a master bedroom which is very comfortable, with space around the bed, and a twin bunk cabin. The rear cockpit area is spacious and with canvas sides fitted makes up a fabulous 'camping' style overnight area if a blow-up bed is used. So she could sleep 6, but 4 is the ideal maximum for us.
She is amazingly fuel efficient. We tend to motor around Poole harbour at around 8 knots, but out at sea we may power her easily onto the plane and cruise at 18–20 knots. The top speed is supposed to be 28, but we’ve never tried - speed is not for us, we leave our hurried lives behind when we step onto Kobi. The galley consists of a double gas hob and a single gas oven and a stainless steel sink with a pull out larder below. It's all very well laid out and she also has a good size 12v fridge with freezer compartment. She has storage areas hidden all over the place, but has a very large one under the rear teak cockpit - shown in photo.
All the photos you see were taken between April 2016 and now, there are no old, or library photos. We felt when we bought her it’d be difficult to get such quality and space for the money, as compared with other boats, and we believe that totally now. So why are we selling? Simple, we got into boating 2 years ago and love it so much that we want to move up in size so that we can comfortably live on our boat for weeks and months at a time! Kobi is very comfortable for a week at a time but we will need a little more space! We are so impressed with the Antares range that we are looking for an Antares 12 or 13.80, which will tick every single box for us… hopefully forever!! So what condition is Kobi in?
Internally. She is so close to ‘as new’ or perfect that it’s amazing, must be seen to appreciate. We've even put a temporay carpet down to protect the original flooring!
Engine. The hours are 410, so over her 11 years that’s around 4 hrs per month – very low. The twin Nanni engines are beautifully painted and the engine bay is beautifully clean. All levels are constant and everything starts and runs perfectly. I was told when I purchased her that both engines had been serviced. I do not have the proof of this so a full professional engines service will be carried out before any sale is concluded at my expense.
Externally. She is also near perfect. There are two small blemishes in the fibreglass on the top fibreglass deck that I’m having professionally attended to, with receipt to show upon sale.
Hull. She was anti-fouled and the shafts and propeller and trim tabs cleaned off in April along with a new antifoul. This will be required again next March or April.
Canvas: The rear cockpit area can be surrounded in canvas which, apart from the roof canvas (as per photos), we have not used and are stored. These are visually in very good condition but a few popper/securing straps look like they need replacing. The flybridge canvas, however, is worn out and needs replacing for aesthetics. I have not replaced it because the original is perfectly adequate as a cover, but I will either rectify/replace all canvas issues within the agreed sales price or make a deduction to reflect. The top bimini cover does not appear in any photos apart from one, because we have not used the bimini therefore removed it for safe keeping. You may notice that the name Kobi on some photos is in a flowing script and on some a modern rounded type. I changed the type to the more rounded type a few weeks after we bought her.
Overall she is a magnificent boat, ready to relax and have fun on, as we are still doing. We would welcome any viewing from serious buyers, so please view with confidence and of course any inspection would be welcomed.
