1975 Classic Broom Scorpio speedboat/ski boat with sliding hardtop This popular boat and one of the last to be manufactured by John Broom at Brundall, Norfolk, is in original condition with beautiful polished gel coat and graphics. There are a few minor blemishes commensurate with age but you will be hard pushed to find better complete with its sliding top and newly fitted rear cover. The seating and side padding is almost unmarked and the flooring is a special marine waterproof covering. All the seats are easily removable for storage during the winter months and the boat comes with a fuel filter, petrol tank, engine controls, two keys, kill switch, battery isolator switch, battery and battery box. The boat is also fitted with working navigation lights and a horn. The boat carries its 85hp Mercury well as the hull is rated up to 115hp. The 1989 85hp Mercury was rebuilt by an outboard specialist and redecaled to look like a 1969 model hence the 80hp as 85hp decals were not available for it and I particularly wanted the red style. The propeller is a genuine Mercury stainless steel prop and the boat will reach 42mph with three up. The boat was last used this month at Cardiff at a Classic Motor Boat Association rally and you can see the boat performing at a previous Cardiff event on You Tube if you select ‘CMBA Rally 2013 Broom Scorpio’. The trailer is also included in the sale. It was purchased new in 2010 and is all galvanised and in excellent condition all round with new bearings, good tyres, winch and strap etc. There is also a stern ensign and staff and a bow flag mast.
