For sale is an Evinrude 25hp, 2 stroke outboard. IT IS CURRENTLY NOT WORKING. I cannot tell you how old it is but the serial number provided in the photos should give you this information if you search on it. This motor was going to be used as an auxiliary motor. When I first fitted the motor to the boat it was running very well. Unfortunately (yes, I've had a few of these over the years!) after I did a final check before going out with it, I tilted the engine up only to be confronted by the hisses and crackles that only come with the electrical loom shorting out along with that acrid smell of burning insulation. Given that the engine ran so well in testing prior to this, I brought the engine home with the intention of rewiring and subsequent use. I cannot recall how far I went with the rewiring but certainly not far enough to get it working! Like many things in day to day life, it never got finished due to priorities being elsewhere. I now accept that I will never get to complete the job so now up for sale. Offered as is. Assume none of the wiring is done (probably accurate) so bid on that basis. It does include the cable for forward throttle/gear control but not the forward control. It used to be electric start and I have not removed this. I just can't prove it still works. This auction is pick-up only in the Woodcroft area south of Adelaide. (Having been asked the question before ..... No, there is no buy it now option and the auction will run to completion.)
