This lovely little Nordic folk boat is an ideal project for someone looking to occupy themselves this winter. Mast in storage, and included in the sale. Nani Diesel Engine. Free hoist onto buyers road transport is included.The Nordic Folkboat has a fascinating history. About 70 years ago a competition was held by the Scandinavian Yacht Racing Union to design the perfect yacht that was not only extremely fast for racing, but had comfortable, well appointed accommodation for cruising. There was no overall winner, but the best features of the best designs were combined by top yacht designer, Tord Sunden and the Nordic Folkboat was born.
The design proved incredibly successful and even today there are 4000 still being sailed worldwide. Their seaworthiness has been proven time and time again in the number of successful ocean crossings and circumnavigations that have been completed in these classic 'little ships'.This little ship needs some attention, but not much. As mentioned, it would be a great project for any competent DIY-er/ amateur boat enthusiast looking for a rewarding project to occupy the winter months.As mentioned, buyer is responsible for road transport or arranging yard storage. Date of collection must be before the end of the month (31/8/16). Should the buyer fail to arrange either road transport or yard storage by 31/8/16, we will assume a no show and the vessel will return to auction.
