Narrow boat project... located on the Kennet and Avon Canal Nr Bath.66ft all steel narrow boat, cruiser stern with bmc 1800 inboard diesel in working order.Believed to be circa 1990 built by the now iconic springer boat builders, she is one of there last boats and has a good build quality, finish and look to her.I have owned this boat "Boannan" for the past 16 months and purchased her as a rescue project.She has so much potential and offers a huge internal space, a massive rear deck, large front deck and beautiful side hatch.The engine is in working order as is the running gear and gear box,We have done lots: new filters, new starter motor and new alternator- I have been moving her every fortnight and she cruises well.I dry docked her last October, we did an ultrasonic hull thickness test over the whole boat, which read well. We replaced a section of the counter plate, fitted new anodes all over and blacked her. She has front, rear, and side anodes. Then refloated her- my welder also hammer tested her and gave her the all clear, her average reading was around 4mm (please note springers were only ever built from 4-6mm plate. Thus she is in good condition for her age. )I had intended to finish her and move on as a live aboard home, but due to changes in my circumstances I wont be able to do so.
