A nice Newport 28 sailboat located in Harbor Island West Marina. The boat is 28' in length with a spacious cabin and cockpit. It has 5 sails in very good condition. I sail the boat weekly and it is set up for single hand sailing.
The boat has an electric drive - the original A4 engine, transmission and fuel system were removed and a 5kw electric motor, Sevcon Regen controller and reduction gear fitted to the shaft and propeller. The system is powered by four AGM 100ah batteries and a matched Sevcon charger. You get instant torque and hull speed quietly without fumes, fuel odors or worries about starting and running when you need it. The system has been installed only a few months and works perfectly.
The boat is a fine costal cruiser that's easy to handle. Parting with her due to health reasons
