This is a Genuine 1957 Owens Runabout wooden boat. 1957 was the last year Owens made wooden boats, switching to Fiberglass from 1958 on.This rare boat includes an original vintage Gator trailer, and the original 35hp Johnson twin outboard engine (outfitted with rare generator).Boat was completely redone in 2013 - complete sanding, painting and topcoated with 13 coats of marine varnish.The interior was redone in the original coral and white combo. Has the original "Galaxy 500" wheel and a period correct compass. New stainless bow plate installed.The successful bidder will also receive corresponding literature showing the authenticity of the trailer, plus some boat literature i've collected over the years.The boat will need repair work: The hull was damaged by a hidden rock in our local lake and will need to be repaired - see pictures.
