Estimated price for orientation: 4 005 $

Description Make: Boston Whaler
Offered for sale WITHOUT RESERVE is our 1968 Boston Whaler Nauset with clear Ohio Title. This boat has a 1992 90 HP Mercury 2 Cycle with oil injection and it too has a clear Ohio Title. Also included is a Shoreland’r Trailer – single axle with spare tire. Trailer has Ohio registration. This boat package was listed on e-Bay a couple of weeks ago and narrowly missed the reserve. We have replaced this Whaler, which we have enjoyed since we purchased it in 2000, with a new pontoon boat and, due to lack of storage, we are offering this boat with no reserve. One of the earliest models in the 16’ 3” (often referred to as a 17’) hull the Nauset (pronounced “Naw-sit”) featured an elaborate mahogany center console. The 1970 Whaler catalog described it this way: "It is on the three models of this series [Nauset, Eastport, Sakonnet] and their hybridized variations that the reputation of large Boston Whalers for total excellence has largely been built. They can negotiate in safety and reasonable comfort the wildest waters ever used for pleasure boating; yet they are adaptable to more casual types of water sport in a degree equaled by few and exceeded by none. Easy for one man to haul and launch with a trailer, they open to their owners all waterways in the country from spruce-fringed crystal lakes in the North to shallow, bone fish flats and ocean reefs in the Florida Keys-- from Massachusetts bluefish grounds in the rip tides off Martha's Vineyard to the salmon fishery and cruising paradise of the far Northwest; and besides all this they are constructed with a solid uncompromising quality normally expected only on custom-built yachts." The Nauset added lights, fixed pilot seat, console and windshield, console front seat, mechanical steering, and single lever engine controls to the base boat. We particularly like the safety (for our grandchildren and others) of the stainless railing surrounding the hull forward of the stern. In 1970 the list price was $1,995, a $695 premium over the bare hull. ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
Our Nauset has: Bimini top; compass; Raytheon L365 Fish finder with depth/Hi & LO depth alarms/speed/water temperature; Dual model MXDM66 AM/FM/CD/MP3?WMA/USB radio with 2 Dual marine speakers; rod holders; two 9 gallon fuel tanks installed under the console with a tank selector control; a newer Attwood Guardian 500 electric bilge pump with automatic on-off control; a West Marine removable boarding ladder; Teak flagstaff with American flag; Anchor and line; fenders; Dock lines; and a Safety Flare Kit; CANVAS
In addition to the canvas canopy cover and frame, our Whaler has Custom made weatherproof canvas covers with retaining snaps to cover the helm and pilot seat. There are also canvas snap on panels to cover the opening both above and below the shelf in the console to give a bit of security and a more finished look. The quality of the canopy cover cover is fair, the other canvas is very good. ENGINE
The Mercury engine runs strong and will run a GPS measured speed with just the driver of 38 MPH. It has hydraulic trim (new trim pump installed in 2015) with dash mounted gauge. When I took it out of winter storage I noticed a very slight leak of 2 cycle oil. See photo. A spare propeller is included. MANUALS
I have and am including the many installation and instruction manuals that almost all of the added items and the Mercury outboard. CONDITION
The boat has been used but not abused. There are some chips in the gel coat at the starboard side aft – see photo. The trailer tires look good and have good tread but they are at least 20 years old. The boat is located in Enfield Maine at the beautiful Cold Stream Pond. Local pickup only unless other arrangements are made. The boat is sold as is – where is so please examine the photos and ask any questions before you bid. The boat is being offered locally and will be removed from the auction if sold prior to the opening bid. Happy Bidding. Don’t hesitate to ask questions.
