Ready to sail away - berthed alongside at Portland Marina, Dorset.Believed to have been built by Fox's of Ipswich in 1962, Oakleaf was previously named Dawn of Chichester.I purchased her from the Lowestoft Boat Building College in late 2014, where she was reported to be aStella Folkboat - although the Stella Association dispute this - I therefore call her a Doghouse Folkboat!I spent 6 months refurbishing her at a friend's yard in Hazelbury Bryan before moving her down to Portland inJune of 2016, by way of Axminster, where Rob Perry installed a reconditioned Volvo 2000 single cylinderdiesel engine, gearbox, fuel tank and controls. After engine trials off Portland, the new Sitka Spruce mast, made to order by Collars at a cost of £3,500 was stepped and the boom fitted. All new stainless steel rigging was supplied and fitted by Apollo Marineof Portland.Oakleaf has a good inventory of sails, including a stunning new mainsail, in cream, as yet unused. A multi-coloured spinnaker, several jibs and a well used storm mainsail.Down below she has twin bunks, room for two more in the fore-ends, a portaloo (to date unused!), a portable gas hob and a mains powered grill and electric kettle. She has VHF, Clipper Echo Sounder and Speed Log, two compasses, two electric bilge pumps - one manualand one automatic. Plus mooring warps and an anchor. Also included in the sale is a useful 8ft tender, in fibreglass and a Seagull Silver outboard motor.Reason for sale: I'm 73 and have recently purchased a smaller clinker built sailboat and trailer.STOP PRESS: 11th August 2016 - New starter motor and automatic bilge pump installed.
