KLEPPER FAM 18 ft Trailer SailerThis is a Klepper Fam 18 manufactured in Germany. Has a good set of sails.Sails really well and fast. Will float in 9 inches of water with the centerplate up. The centerplate on this model is raised from the cockpit with a rachet handle winch making it very easy to adjust if single handled sailing. It has a self draining cockpit, performs like a dinghy but is much bigger. The cabin can if required sleep four adults easily. This boat has been used on the Solent.It comes with a small Seagull Featherlite outboard motor in working condition. Also, has a nearly new trailer in good condition. The hull is in good condition and recently anti fouled. The centerplate has completely been refurbished. This Klepper Fam is like a dinghy in performance but is bigger!! VERY RARE BOAT in this country.Nearly 3,000 of these boats has been manufactured and the design from the first has changed little. It is extremely popular in Germany and the EU. Also there are many film clips on You Tube.I am selling this boat because my wife prefers our other boat.I live in GU16 about 8 minutes from Junction 4 of the M3 motorway.I prefer cash on collection. You will see also that my start price is low compared with what Klepper Fam is currently selling for. There is no reserve. I have added 3 more photos. One of the inside of the boat and you can see a piece of timber laid between the red cushions. There is a small ledge and on some Klepper Fam people insert marine ply sections into this space which allows sleeping across the whole width of the cabin, approximately 6 foot 6 inches wide. The other photo is of the winch which is a good quality that lifts and lowers the centerplate. The centerplate when fully up is inside the hull allowing the boat to float in 9 inches of water and when fully down is approximately 4 feet, obviously, the centerplate can be lowered in increment as maybe required when sailing. It is a swing centerplate which is anchored towards the bow of the boat. The approximate total weight including trailer is 450 to 500 kgs. There is no tailboard included in this sail.
